I guess I'm not the only one who thinks he's brilliant....

The album, produced by the ubiquitous Rick Rubin, is a little bit country, a little bit rock & roll -- but also a little bit power balladry, alt-country, and roadhouse boogie. Along with the comments that got them into their recent mess, it's the least wimpy thing the group's ever done.

For that, you can also thank a guest roster that makes the album feel like a support-the-Chicks rally. With Neil Finn, they come up with "Silent House," a lovely downer that brings out the best in the trio's layered harmonies; Gary Louris' input gives "Everybody Knows" the rainy-day jangle of a song by his band the Jayhawks.

1. He did indeed
The song is a bit bluegrass with some rock surges. I recommend the whole CD highly!

There are so many guests on the CD. Even John Mayer on lead electric guitar! He does a good job.

3. Neil Finn is an amazing song writer, musician and singer.
Did you happen to catch (on PBS, I think) the concerts that Neil did in New Zealand? He had some great musicians with him (Johnny Marr, Eddie Vedder, there are many more). He also did a set with his brother, Tim.

He is quite a performer.

You KNOW I think he's brilliant beyond description! From that man's pen flows musical genius.
