4. I don't watch the show, but
I thought I heard somewhere once that the producers don't really have an idea of what's going on; they just make shit up.

and they anticipate it lasting only 4 seasons. After tonight though, I don't know if I believe it.

8. I've watched most of the shows but I really don't get the plot
They've used the "backstory" technique very effectively to develop the characters. Its unusual to see a show that spends so much effort on character development (even on the ones they decide to kill off) and then be so sloppy with the plot line that they have to keep having "review" episodes. If you miss a week of this show, you're really LOST.

6. It's like watching a blender. You just turn it on, it spins and
you watch, and after your thoroughly mixed up you turn it off. I've given up. I think they make it up as they go along.Do you think that there is a real plot?

15. I really bought into the purgatory theory
I think alot of people did and the producers knew it so they decided to change things. Now the whole thing is seeming a bit science fictiony.

16. JJ Abrams was on Howard Stern's show a few weeks ago.
He said that ABC pitched the idea to him about a group of plane crash survivors stranded on an island, and that's all they gave him. He had a week to come up with a treatment. So yes, you're probably right. :)

Still an awesome show, though.

20. I've never watched "Lost" . . .
but you guys are making the same kind of comments we "Alias" fans used to make about our show! We used to have fun speculated what kind of illegal substances the writers were using.

Of course, after that stinker of a series finale, now we just want them dead. ;)

21. Same folks too
That's one thing that has me worried. Alias was really interested at first with the whole Rambaldi thing and then whoosh nothing. Moving on. Ignore that. Time passes.

J.J. Abrams reminds me of a role playing game dungeon master who sets up really cool stories but then grows bored with them, or doesn't really know the endgame, so it just fizzles out and he moves on to the next thing that interests him.

He reminds me of an unsuccessfull writer who has 30 amazing books half finished.

Ah well. I'm hooked. I'll just hope for the best.

22. Ahh, yes: Joss Whedon-itis.
It's contagious for writers of shows with huge cult followings.
