20. Well, a bunch of people died. A bunch of corporations got richer.

Illegal aliens worked jobs in the US at below minimum wage. Senators and Congresspersons stayed out of touch with the people and got their pockets lined with cash. Consumers got gouged at the gas pumps. Drug addicts got thrown into prison when they should have been checked into hospitals, instead. And their familes were destroyed. The Iraqi people are still suffering. Doctors committed malpractice. Attorneys ripped off their clients. Constitutional rights were violated. A cop killed someone. Someone killed a cop. Children and inmates got raped. Spouses cheated on each other and ruined someone's life. Credit card companies lied.

Where I work, there are several regional offices. Gossip has it that we might be slated for closure.

16. The cat's trying to drink my husband's whiskey.

She'll drink his coffee if he leaves it unattended (and a 14 year old, 6 pound Siamese wired on hi-test with a shot of espresso is a force of nature to behold....) but up until now, she's never gone after the booze. But tonight, she will not leave it alone, and keeps trying to get her nose down in the cordial glass. And she's turning her nose up at 'nip.
