A duck laid 7 eggs in our front yard! Each day there is a new one. I wonder how many we will end up with? And, I wonder why I can never catch the momma duck sitting on them? Strange, isn't it?

I will try, anyway. I wish I was about 10 years younger..I would have grown up using computers and would know how to post my own pics!
I'll figure it out.

Good for you, to have such a place that they feel safe enough to be there!

6. Thank you, I will certainly do that |

One of these days, I'll have to learn how to use photo bucket, or one of the other sites, so I can post personal photos.

4. She's waiting until the clutch is complete before she sits. |
|
That way the babies will develop at the same rate. My African parrots sat on their eggs from the first one, so the babies hatched a few days apart and came in different sizes. Ducklings are precocial (ready to move at hatching), so they need to hatch at about the same time.

8. You're welcome. You should have a great time with the little fluffballs. |
|
My "fluffballs" were "altricial" rather than "precocial." Mom and dad had to care for them in the nest until I could take over...and what a job it was!
