Poll question: I Can't Decide Which Movie to Watch...HELP!
Ok, so my digital cable comes with Video on Demand and there's actually a decent selection at the moment. So decent, in fact, that I can't decide what to watch. Help me out, Lounge.

Advice, opinions...is one great? Does one suck? Help!

1. The only one of those that I've seen is Everything Is Illuminated
Which is a really good film.

2. I voted Constant Gardener, but if
that's too heavy, Hustle and Flow is excellent.

3. Too heavy...
as in depressing or as in intellectual?

Thanks for your help!

7. Depressing.
Very damn good, but sad.

Hmmm.
I might have to shelf that one for another time.

I avoided seeing it in the theater b/c the movie poster reminded me of that godawful film, The English Patient. Ralph Fiennes is hot, but I wanted to kill myself.

But you're saying it's better than that? ;)

14. I came away from that movie
with so many emotions. Sadness, ANGER lots of anger ... it's quite political.

11. I was really intrigued
by the preview...which is why it's on the list. I'll definitely see it at some point, if not tonight.

6. Arrrrrghhhh!
Once upon a time, I saw almost every new movie that I came out....

Three kids later, I have to say that I haven't seen ANY (ANY!) of the movies you listed.

At least you don't have to pay to see them, so you could just take a peek at a couple and see which one catches your interest.

BTW, North Country was filmed in northern Minnesota, so I'd recommend that one. :-)

8. Actually,
I do have to pay for them. It's $3.95 per movie...though that's WAY cheaper than going to see it in the theater. Particularly here in LA...that doesn't even cover parking!

Don't feel too bad, I obviously haven't seen any of them either! And I go to the movies A LOT. ;)

15. A History of Violence.
Great bubble gum for the brain movie. Shootings, beatings, shit blowing up sort of thing.

if it doesn't win tonight, I'll put it on the list for later viewing.

Thanks!

17. And the Winner is...
Hustle & Flow.

I'll definitely bump The Constant Gardner up on my list, but it's a bit late at night for heavy politics.

Thanks for voting!

18. Everything Is Illuminated is really good.

Very heartwarming and moving.

Constant Gardener was excellent.

The Squid and the Whale SUCKED, big time. It made me feel like taking a shower afterwards. Whoever wrote it either has a twisted mind, or has a screwed up childhood.

The Prizewinner, etc. was pretty stupid. It's based on a true story about a woman in the '50's who entered a lot of contests and won a bunch of stuff. Lots of kids, alcoholic husband, yada, yada, yada.

:hi:
