My son WASHED his cellphone...
forgot to take it out of his pants before he threw them in the wash.

At this moment it is dead. I am hoping that once it is dry, it will work. It does not right now.

:grr:

5. This one was not cheap
He is on a pay as you go plan, and we just recently upgraded to a flip/camera phone, because his old one was so clunky that he would not carry it.

This one is 3 weeks old. :grr:

3. I "washed" my cellphone once...
in a RIVER. I took off the back panel, took the batteries out, let everything dry on a paper towel for the afternoon, wiped the dirt off the connectors and put it back together. Aside from some dirt under the screen, it worked perfectly until I changed my plan and had to get a new phone. :)

8. I did it to my previous cell phone - TWICE:
Take out the battery ASAP.

Let it dry for 48 hours straight.

If the phone has detachable face plates, detach them before drying.

I betcha it'll work fine once dry.

11. It'll probably be fine as long as there is no soap clogging
anything or as long as the agitator didn't damage it. Let it dry to see if the circuits will complete again.

14. does he have insurance on it?
I had mine replaced this week. It kept getting hot and shutting off. Not to mention the dropping of calls and telling me I had voice mail when I didn't! The lights would flash, and then go really nutz!

It was possessed. Maybe I was being wireless tapped? :yoiks:

Somebody should explain the meaning of the term 'phone sex' to him. Not quite getting it yet.

26. I dropped a former cell phone in a pond
rescued it, removed everything that could be removed and let it dry out. Worked fine for a couple of years after that until I changed phone companies.

Going through a washing cycle, however, doesn't sound good. Contact the phone company and explain your problem. Since it is only three weeks old, they may give you a new one.

28. bummmmmmmmmmmmmmer
but maybe someone tried to talk dirty to him and he of unquestionably superior moral turpitude unwittingly determined that it must be cleansed.

Really sorry for your possible loss and am talking to the cell phone fairies on your behalf right now.
