I'm spending the holiday at various truck stops between Reno NV and Salt Lake City UT. I've got three days to kill and only 500 miles to drive. I'm all alone, stuck in my truck, I'm fighting with my only real friend in the world (so no phone), AND I'm sick as a dog. It's raining and snowing ... actually, that's okay ... nevermind.

Any words of sympathy, for poor lonesome me?

Edit: If you'd care to top me with your own tale of woe, I'm all ears ... except for the parts that aren't ears.

My daughter's with her boyfriend this weekend and while the farm's nice, it's still very lonely. I went to work for a few hours this morning because I don't get holiday pay. :(

I always thought that at this point in life, I'd have familly around and a big party to throw on these holidays, but no go.

6. Since reading the 'Ishmael' books....

I just find myself thinking, why do we live like this? We are freakin' slaves ... in an increasingly isolated world.

I find myself watching the birds a lot. Seriously, they seem so happy. Food is everywhere, they have mates, they spend much of their time in play. I watched two birds mating the other day (not intending to be nasty here), it was so beautiful. You could tell they were having fun.
