Walk The Line
I watched this last night. I enjoyed it. Mostly because I enjoy Johnny Cash's music and his life story in general.

Although it did irk me that they pretty much passed his wearing black off as kind of a joke "What are you going to a funeral?" "Maybe I am."

I mean the guy had a whole song about how he wore black for the downtrodden and those left behind by poverty and injustice and those caught up in the prison system. I mean I don't know his actual politics (although his daughter Roseanne is a fierce liberal), and I know the movie was more focused on his relationship with June. But still it seemed odd that they wouldn't even touch that.

5. So did I...
A lot. More than I thought I would. I'm not a huge fan of the hollywood bio-pic.

2. The movie's timeline ends in 1968, the year John and June wed
The song "Man in Black" wasn't written/recorded until 1971, which is probably one reason they didn't make a specific point about it.

3. I think the movie introduced millions more to Johnny Cash.
Who perhaps would not have been.

Once they start listening and become interested, the depth of the man and his outlooks are unmistakeable.

And Johnny Cash was also ignored by country radio for a very long time, but not as dramatically as the Dixie Chicks.

(I'm not saying that the Chicks are of the same legendary status as Cash. But I think they have the potential to be if they stick to their beliefs and keep exploring their musical range.)
