Hypothetically, who would come to Chicago for a DU meetup & meet CAPeggy?

I made the perfectly insane suggestion that she call a national DU meetup for some place centrally located, say Chicago, this summer and make that her goal to drive to. She suggested that she could not be so forward as to call such a meetup. But just hypothetically, keeping in mind that she may not be able to take her roadtrip at all and anyway that's an awful damn long drive from California, would anybody be up for it? Would everybody? Is this headed to the archives with my birfday CD thread?:P

Don't blame Peggy for this; it's all me. Just thought it would be fun to see if anybody would be up for it.

For my part, I would be enthusiastic even apart from the seeing Peggy and seeing other DUers part as a) I like Chicago and barely had the chance to visit and b) girlfriend has been leaning on me to go there with her since we got together. But I would be almost equally enthusiastic for anywhere else anyone wanted to suggest, from DFW to Topeka to NYC to DC.

that the turnout for a DU meetup in Chicago would probably exceed one in Topeka by a factor of 10 or 20.

15. If I had enough notice, I'd consider it

Especially if I could get some other Detroit area DUers to go with me. We could drive or take the new Mega Bus, which is cheaper the earlier you make your reservations -- as low as $1 each way with very advance rservations. The price goes up the closer to departure you get, but even then it's pretty cheap. Probably cheaper than driving, with the price of gas these days.
