Maybe I'm elitist, but I love Perrier |
|
And I love seltzer water, too - somehow I find it more refreshing that plain water.
Anyone know why? Is this typical? Is there something about carbonated water versus plain water that makes it a better thirst quencher? Living NYC, I always carried a bottle of seltzer with me in the hot summer, because it felt better to drink when I got hot and exhausted than plain water. That includes the hiking through Harriman Park, too - the Seltzer felt better.
As to the Perrier, I never used it for the hiking and the walks, but I simply love the taste of it. What a wonderful, splendiferous taste it has. I also like that other one that often is found in NYC restaurants, Pellegrino.

I'm so ashamed. I try not to come across as elitist, though I often think that yes, indeed, I am... but I don't want to come across that way normally. I also believe in hospitality and etiquette, which is all about NOT coming across elitist or better than others...

And I'm so excited that I ooze! Oozing appeals to the "Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails" part of me.
:-)
And truly, thanks for the compliment.

2. French water? Why do you hate America? |
|
Seriously, though. I love Perrier, too, but usually get Pellegrino if I'm feeling rich, Calistoga if not. I don't know why, but I LOVE fizzy water. Its the best thing ever for a sore throat.

5. Is there any scientific truth to it feeling better than plain water? |
|
I'm very curious if it's purely psychosomatic; or, if not psychosomatic, whether the fact that it feels better means that it IS better, or if it's actually less effective at hydration that plain water.
And the carbonation certainly helps with indigestion - like seltzer.

8. I enjoy seltzer w/ a meal |

but to quench my thirst on a hot day nothing tastes better than a glass of plain water with a lemon wedge. Anything carbonated or too heavy in minerals always made me feel bloated in the heat.

10. Carbonated? Yuck! I do all I can to stay away from the stuff! |
|
I take medication that requires me to drink lots of water. Not a problem because the meds make me crave it. I'm partial to uncarbonated flavored water.
If however that is not available, I drink Poland Spring. Now that's great water! :9

I live on fizzy water. I love Perrier, especially the lime flavored, but I buy all different kinds and flavors. Raspberry, cherry and lime are great, as long as they don't put any kind of sweetener in. Just naturally flavored seltzer water. It doesn't even have to be refrigerated because the fizz makes it taste cold, so this saves room in my smaller refrigerator (live on a boat). Much much more satisfying than plain water.

I spend too much on San Pellegrino and Perrier to supplement the lattes and the glasses of wine, on which I am also spending too much.

I just started drinking it to get off of soft drinks and now I have a perrier every sunday after work. Believe it or not, there is a gas station near my work that sells it.
I don't care for San Pelligrino, though. I like Poland Spring and there is one other one that I like...
Perrier, is of course, politically incorrect, but needless to say that gas station doesn't have a wide selection of seltzer water.
