Question about DU journals

Today, I've been playing around with the layout of my journal. I've never even dabbled with CSS before.

How do you go about replacing the ordinary text journal title with a nifty image?

I used 'background-image', but the image showed up much larger than it actually is, and it got clipped on the right edge.

How do you make sure that it shows up the right size, and fits in the space allocated for it?

I hope I'm clear. Thanks for any help.
