Good Monday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Monday edition of the Early Morning Crew Thread! :bounce: I hope you had a fantastic weekend and you got to relax and have some fun! I surely did!

Have any of you seen the "Vongo" commercials on TV? Vongo is the movie downloading service where you can download as many movies as you want to your hard drive for $9.99 a month. I decided to check it out and see what it is like since they have a seven day free trial. The only downside I have discovered so far is that you have to watch the movies on your computer. You cannot burn them to a DVD to watch them on your television. However, if you can connect your computer to your TV, you can watch them on tv that way. There aren't that many movies available yet either. They say around 1,000. Well, OK...a thousand. But, most of them I have never heard of, so I don't know if I'd want to see them or not. I'll let you know.

So are you ready for a new work week? It's Monday you know. So rise and shine, my crew! It's time to get this week started! :bounce:

We made a lot of money yesterday at the picnic over $3000, the flyers really worked.

We will have nice check to give to the family.

39. The best thing is that several people came by with jobs for the
husband, so things are looking up for the family.

I never did get to bed, wrapped up the meat took it to the community center. We had so much food, good thing because we needed it.

If anybody needs to do this, $5 a plate is the best price. We had donated drinks and everyone make cakes and pies, that was extra. Yesterday was a lot of fun, every year we do this for a good cause.

We even had prizes donated, that raised a lot of money.

I am going to bed for a few hours, have some friends coming over.

Have a good morning, see you tomorrow.

32. It was really nice
Saturday evening we had guest over for dinner. The parents from the Ukranian couple (hers) are here for a visit and my mom invited them all over. Last year his parents came for a visit and my mom invited them over as well. So we had a really yummy dinner on Saturday. Friday was full of cleaning and Saturday of cooking.
M. called and we exchanged text messages, so that was good too.

I will just keep applying for jobs, someone will take me I am sure :) My plus is that I did internships in Glasgow, Scotland and in Savannah, GA. And that my English is really good. OK, it is more American than British English but once I move there I will learn the British words. As far as it is concerning my applications, M. helps me there.

Oh, it never was a question IF I move to London, just how I will do it regarding a job. Do I look first for a position and then move, or do I first move and then look for a position. I will do the first option.

:donut: :hi:

Still waking up here. We went to CompUSA yesterday and looked at the MacBook ... talk about COOL! I think I'm going to like it! Then we stopped by a burger joint that was supposed to have the best burgers around. It's sort of like an ice cream stand with tables outside, only there's a roof over the tables. Well, they had the music on so loud that I had to sit in the car to escape the noise (we're talking LOUD). The fries were very greasy and way too salty and the burgers were dried up, burned hockey pucks. I told harleydad we HAD to go there before we left ... so now we've done that. Should've gone to Checkers.

I'm ready to get the rest of this house packed up. We emptied out the big freezer yesterday and let it defrost and dry. Don't know what's in store today, but there's way too much stuff still out.

Bandit is still causing problems. He used the floor next to the dining table again last night. x( I don't understand this! Yes, we clean it out every day, so it's not a dirty box that's got him all messed up. But I'm not going to stand for this much longer. My patience is at an end with him. I'm wondering if it's because Tony is here now.

51. I wondered the same thing.
Only it's not usually JUST because another pet came to live in the house. If, even ONCE, he was in the box and Tony bothered him, it could make him reluctant to go in again. That's another reason for the suggestion to take the cover off -- that way, he won't feel like he can get trapped. Sorry for all the questions ... but they have to be asked in order to rule out the obvious stuff. Might want to try the second box idea.

Well, all was not lost at the burger joints. Harleydad likes his burgers to taste like the charcoal they were grilled on.

It seems silly, but I wish I could pack up the car NOW so I'll be sure we have room for all the take-in-the-car stuff. Harleydad doesn't like doing anything early, so there's no chance of that happening. He's even uncomfortable with how much is already packed! Hello ... we're MOVING ... things have to get packed!

55. I've never had a cover on his box...
It's wide open and there is a gate on the doorway to his room so Tony can't get in. I guess it's possible Tony bothered him before we put the gate up, but it's been in place now for a while. I just wish he'd get over this!

Yeah...HELLO, Mister Harley! You're getting ready to move, Mister!:rofl:

58. Now it's getting more puzzling!
But don't forget the part where the vet says, "don't question cats.....just try ANYTHING!!" I'm scratching my head at this point -- have you tried confining him yet? I wish he'd get over it, too!

Ahem ... Mister Harley is a little grumpy these days. Normally, he can escape into a book, but he finished reading the last one he had. Perhaps I should send him to the book store today! Then I can sneak some more things into some boxes.

61. Yeah, there you go!
Send him to find another book and you can do more! :bounce::rofl: Great plan! The only place I could confine him to is the bathroom where his box is. He caterwals (sp?) all the time until we let him out though, so I'm not sure that's going to be an option.

63. Well, if you can figure out his schedule,
perhaps you could confine him when he has to go ... like after he eats or something. Sort of like potty training a kid -- put him on the potty after a meal. Jeez, Clintmax, something HAS to work! x( Maybe he needs a cat whisperer.

Meanwhile ... Harleydad made coffee and wants me to join him. :wow: I normally don't drink the stuff, but I've made exceptions since I started packing. I'll catch you later, or tomorrow. Have a great day! :loveya:  :hi:

69. Fl check-in
We were all ready for a nice storm yesterday - well, I guess somebody got rain, but we only got a couple of drops. The apartments next door to our subdivision are going condo - they're cute places (at least from the outside). That's the end of apts on our street. Have a great day.

71. Good Morning Clintmax and everyone else, hope ........
....this is a good day for one and all. :grouphug:

Please everyone, :patriot: take just a moment today and remember those who have fought and died for what freedoms we have left.:patriot: Especially remember those in Iraq and Afghanistan who are fighting and dying everyday. We may not agree with why they are there but these people are our countrymen and they deserve our respect.:patriot: PLUS, and what I find so terrible beyond all words is this :spank: WH Idiot :grr: sends our countrymen into battle and then tells them there is no money for proper equipment. So may don't have the proper head gear for their helmets and who knows what else they are missing.

It's going to be hot here again today. It was 97 degrees yesterday and will be at least 93 again today. I've got an air conditioner and I'm getting very well acquainted with it too.:bounce:
