Worst. Lyrical Device. Ever. |
|
Any self-referring lyric, such as might contain the words "I'm singing this song" or "I wrote this song" or any variation thereof, is hereby declared tacky and wrong. I can't think of a single instance of this horrifically cheezy lyrical device *not* being tacky and wrong, therefore it should be banished from music forever. A song should be about *anything* but the song itself. Discuss, or agree, or disagree, or click your way away and don't look back. "That's why I'm writin' this post." Ew.

|
I bet they won't play this song on the radio I bet you they won't play this new *BLEEP* song It's not that it's *BUZZ* or *BEEP BEEP* controversial Just that the *DING*ing words are awfully strong
You can't say *HONK* on the radio Or *BAM* or *TWANG* or *AAAARRRGGHHH*, You can't even say I'd like to *CREAK* you one day Unless you're a doctor with a very large *BOING*
So I bet you they won't play this song on the radio I bet you they daren't *SCRATCH* well programme it I bet you their *CHING*ing old Programme Directors Will think it's a load of horse *FART*

Mr. Rogers singing that to the tune of "These Are The People In My Neighborhood," it's kinda cute. It's also a really good sign I shouldn't be buzzed at work on Memorial Day.

11. I'm penning this post, to tell you that.... |
|
I write the songs that make the young girls cry, so that they (young girls) will be occupied and unable to listen to just.plain.wrong people like you.
I'm signing off now; as my work is done.

13. Agreed. It's pompous. I dislike it when they sing how great they are, |
|
and how great their beat is... when the beat stinks.
I miss the days when "I want your love" was deemed inappropriate.
