2. Watched it earlier.
The 10 year DVD was on sale at Target for 10 bucks. Great film, but that little girl in the dress kills me.

:(

3. Oh I know
I first saw that movie in civics class in high school. It took a week to watch. Only time I ever prayed in school.

16. I have read "Man's search for Meaning" and a few others
regarding the holocaust. That book was 13 dollars, which I thought was a lot for a small book. It is on my list to read.

6. I can't grasp how you could view a whole group of humans as being animals
Sad thing is, people here think we are not capable of it. People bristle when the administration is compared to Nazi Germany. Really, what are these movies made for if not to remember, and prevent something like that from happening again? I know obviously that we are not engaging in genocide, and don't come close to what Germany was, but our loss of freedoms and practice of torture abroad does not bode well. Everything has a beggining. I just hope it will end soon.

I wonder about voting machines in the Nov election.

10. I think the scene at the end where he breaks down was sad, too.
Rationalizing what he could have sold to save one more person.

22. It really is amazing what Schindler did.
It had to take courage and cleverness to pull it off.

19. Schindler's List was put out while I was still at Universal
and I saw it with other employees at a special screening. We had been working on a lot of DTS productions since Steven Spielberg and Universal were working with the creators of DTS and distributing all films from Amblin and Universal with it. The theatre was one of the first equipped with the new sound system.

All the employees had working on the movie in some capacity, so we knew some of what was going on. I brought my nieces with me to see it. I knew there were some really gruesome parts, but when you've seen the film with all of the stuff in context, it's a shock.

During the screenings, it was common to talk about elements and such, but during the showing of Schindler's List, there was almost complete silence. And at the very end, there was stunned silence. Complete and utter silence--except for a few sobs here and there. For even jaded entertainment workers, it had a major impact. I haven't seen it since. I don't want to--the impact was quite enough the first time.

21. I saw the film for the first time recently
and I agree that was probably the most disurbing and memorable part from the film. What's worse, is seeing the coat in the cart, which leads you to believe she was killed.

It's a tough movie to watch and I know that I can't watch it ever again.

23. The lack of color except the red coat and the candle flames was well done.
I like the end where they show the Schindler Jews putting stones on his grave. It was good to see how many of them there were.

Thanks, kids! I'll check it out.
