BREAKING - Paris Hilton Will No Longer Wear Fur

STARPULSE -- Paris Hilton has abandoned her fur-wearing ways after Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills made her watch horrific footage of animal cruelty.

The hotel heiress was previously pelted with flour by members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after sporting real fur at this year's London Fashion Week.

But it was animal rights campaigner Mills who managed to persuade Hilton to turn her back on wearing animal skins for good.

She says, "I am not going to be wearing fur anymore. I met up with (Mills) and she showed me videos of how badly the animals are treated. It is just disgusting. I am an animal lover."

No, don't thank me. And please, no fur jokes that will get this locked.

"Hey, we may be dead, but at least we don't have to get worn by that!"

edit: excised extraneous numeral :eyes:

5. Finally, something positive
I try to see the good in all, but I was really having trouble with her. Good for Paris, and good for anyone that (God forbid) looks up to her for influence.

19. Regardless of who she might be in our eyes
She is a role model for a lot of young women and adolescents. And giving up fur is a positive step, considering how many NON-animal loving (fucked-up) designers there are who include fur in their fashion lines. If Hilton isn't wearing it, many of her fans won't either, whether they do it out of "worship" or for the animals.

Let's face it: for the average citizen of the learned world, people like Paris Hilton have great influence. There might never be an answer as to why some of them have such influence, but as long as they do, we should applaud them when they do something worthy like this. I remember as a teenager myself that John Denver was a major influence in my life, and because of him, I developed a strong interest in environmental issues. We often become involved in worthy endeavors based on the things our "heroes" do, because it means something to them, and ultimately to us.

Saving the animals of the world is a worthy activity, and if more people who carried influence cared enough to make their passions known, perhaps we would be able to welcome more people into caring for a host of other things instead of just themselves.
