Is during the Stanley cup playoffs.
These links are from the fans in Edmonton the other night when they won the birth in the finals. However, whenever the home team wins a game during the playoffs, in any round it's usually a big party on the streets.
I remember a couple years ago when the Canucks advanced to the second round, police estimated 20,000 people were on Robson street in Vancouver celebrating. A guy I knew from Australia thought we had just won the whole shooting match.

I imagine Robson street is quite large?

Whyte Ave is - small (well, the area that the bars are in, they're just concentrated in a couple of blocks). The area that they would have congregated in - if it was 8 or 9 very short blocks, that was it - would take you less than 10 minutes to walk those blocks.

I have no problem with fans getting excited and having an informal parade, whatever, but this other shit...:grr:

Another night, there were 2 stabbings, and the EMS couldn't even get to them for the crowds. You think the idgits could move for an ambulance. :eyes:

Some guy was climbing trolley wires and was electrocuted. When the ambulance tried to get through idiots began rocking it... then the cops came, you know the rest.
