Oh, Hello...I didn't see you there. |
|
Hey everybody. I haven't been on much thanks to my work schedule, and life has been keeping me pretty busy lately but I've got a little time this morning to say hi so...hi. :D
How have you all been?
Here, I'll get us started with these two little stories/questions/things to whine and/or laugh about:
1. This weekend I went out of town to see a show. It was great but one question: Do people just not remember things anymore? Here we are, having a good time dancing, having fun, and every few seconds *bam* flash from a camera--it was like a strobe light for a while. I was toward the back of the crowd and all the little hands going up with their camera phones and cameras looked like little animals peeping out of their hidey-holes. On the one hand, I can't blame them. It was a kick ass show. But on the other, what's wrong with just enjoying the moment once in a while? At least it died down a bit during the headliner.
2. Last night I couldn't sleep and I had a headache but no advil or tylenol so I busted into this old, (but not expired), bottle of oxycontin and "luckily" there was one left. I don't know how on earth Rush managed to pop so many of those damn things! Holy cow! I took half a pill and not only did it knock me right out but this morning I feel really queasy. It's no good.
So. How's by you?

As for your questions:
1. I think it stems from baby pictures -- every little last moment must be captured, if not on video, then at least on film/pixel. Digital cameras make that so much easier and cheaper in the long run. 2. I don't get it either; then again, I don't handle opiates well. They make me nauseous and itchy, and so far, I can handle pain I've experienced (which has thankfully been limited to dental work, minor surgery and so forth) with Advil better than I can handle the side effects of opiates.
:hi:

I think you're on to something. It is easier to just snap a picture. It was funny though because after a while they weren't even trying to get anything specific. They just held up the camera in the general direction of the stage and snapped away. It was just silly.
As for pretending to be Rush, (hold on, that thought made me gag a little), forget it. Never again. Next time I can't sleep it's a shot of whiskey and/or infomercials until I pass out.

2. Hi! Nice to see you... |
|
:hi:
Yeah, that oxycontin is some heavy stuff...of course, if you cut a pill in half, you get a bunch of the narcotic at once instead of the timed-release that it's made for. Nice if you're trying to get totally messed up, but probably not the best for headache relief. :D Anyway, hope it wears off soon....

6. Ahhh, that 'splains it! |

It worked in that I passed out right away but getting messed up was not the goal. I hope it does too! Maybe breakfast will help.
Nice to see you too. :hi:

11. Ha ha. Well I don't know how it is, but |
|
I'm glad you're cool with your unsung genius status. That's a good kind to be--the "sung" ones tend to be belting out solos and that can get annoying, if you know what I mean.
Where I work, the people are mostly cynical yet hilarious nerds. It works for us.

8. I'm willing to live with that. :) |

Would you like me to stoke the red hot flames of anger by telling you how fucking awesome it was?
If I told you it was really humid and gross in the club and if it wasn't for the fan nearby I'd have passed out, would that make it better?

9. Oh, also, there's some footage of it on You Tube |
|
So far all I found was this little clip, but I'm sure those nerds I was whining about in the OP will have the whole thing somewhere if they don't already. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GrShU29ejYDid I tell you Quintron played with them too?
