Request for advice regarding XM Radio Purchase

Hello all,
Hubby currently has Sirius radio because when we first purchased it they had Air America and "Talk Left". Since then, hubby can't stomach Alex Bennett, Lynn Samuels, and Eddie Schultz is getting a bit much. Unfortunately he can't stream at work so we're "stuck" with getting a satellite radio. Since 1 hour a day of Tom Hartman isn't really worth it, we're looking at switching to XM radio.

That said, we're looking for a small-ish unit because he doesn't have much room on his desk so we're looking at getting either this

Any other options? I guess with the first option we really can't take it on the road with us when we do our annual East Coast trip (we're from Chicago). We're also trying to keep things relatively "inexpensive" , "simple" and non-battery eating if possible.

1. Podcast AA and Ed Schultz shows?

You have to subscribe for daily AA shows a day late, Ed Schultz's podcasts are still free.

That is another way to get around a lack of streaming. Of course if he goes this way he can go way beyond just talk radio to lots of other international newscasts and documentaries via podcasts (e.g. ABC Australia, CBC Canada, BBC...).
