Believe me, it will pay off. My ex and I divorced when our daughter was 2, and though we were really angry with each other in the beginning, we promised that we would never, EVER say anything negative about each other to or in front of our daughter. I know I never did, and my daughter told me that her dad never said anything bad about me either. (He and I get along just fine now).
