Cruise & Holmes Baby Pictures Fail To Sell

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes refused to sell pictures of their new daughter Suri, after the photos were offered to the media and failed to get a significant price, according to media reports in the US. Photos of other new born celebrity babies, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby Shiloh, Gwen Stefani's baby Kingston and Brooke Shields' baby Grier have all graced the covers of major magazines. According to Fox News correspondent Roger Friedman, a photo shoot of Suri was offered to photo agency WireImage. Photos of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt were reportedly sold to People magazine for $4 million, but pictures of Suri Cruise produced not more than a $3 million bid. At that point the offer for the photos was reportedly rescinded. A magazine expert tells Friedman now that the baby is nearly three months old, her price will only go down, adding, "Shiloh was the whole deal. We won't see a baby like that again for a while."

3. Perhaps no one wanted to contribute that much to Scientology
I mean, people may bust on the Pitt-Joile pictures but they used an opporunity from greedy magazines to raise money for worthy causes. More than likely the Cruise-Holmes picture monies would have been funnelled to Scientology, that and the fact that the kid was already 3 months made her not a shopping value

7. That's actually not true at all
Joile & Pitt used the demand for their baby photos to raise money for charity. If you can find an easier way to make $4mil for the charity of your choice please let me know. I believe the money is going to several charities that help benefit African children. Now I know what you're thinking - it's all talk and that Joile-Pitt are going to pocket the money. But I think we know, especially with Angelina Joile, that she has been a great advocate for raising money for African charities worldwide and the money will go to it's intended destination.

Try to be a bit less judgemental

9. Not only that, but it eliminates the stalkarazzi's incessant
quest for the 'first pics'. I think it was a brilliant move. They get left alone and a much needed charity gets $4million.

11. I hate Tom Cruise more than most people, and even here, I agree with him.
it's not "celebrity baby profit", it's just good sense. They can more easily control whos around the baby, reduce the paparazzi, raise money for a charity, and, also - since the newspapers/magazines/etc. are gonna sell a shitload more copies for having their baby in them, why shouldn't they see some of that profit anyway?

12. What are you agreeing with? They *offered* the photos...
and decided not to sell because it was too low a price. I would bet that it's because they didn't get a higher price than Jolie/Pitt did. Pure competition and ego. And how does not having sold the pictures reduce paparazzi? I think it would increase the chances of some paparazzi trying to get a snapshot of their baby, since they won't sell the photos. Jolie and Pitt were the smart ones in that regard.

13. Assuming this report is true....
doesn't it strike anyone as odd that it's taken three full months for Cruise and Holmes to offer a peek at Suri? Could it be because the adoption wasn't finalized until recently and there was no baby to photograph? Just a hunch.
