I used to read comics quite a bit, mostly Marvel, some DC though.
Sadly though, no cartoon has ever been made to my satisfaction of Marvel characters. The "first" X-Men catoon was the closest though it was cancelled after what? Two seasons? The Spiderman toon was ok; though I hated the animation and all in all, it just lacked quality. (IMO)
DC on the other hand has had much greater success. Batman was excellent as was Superman. They both had excellent animation (not as real as say, anime, but it had the right kind of style, it felt more comic like, yet at the same time conveyed all it needed to) and good storylines.
The same is true of Justice League (though I haven't seen it as much as I'd like); Teen Titans is also pretty slick. Although I had to get used to it's animation style.. something of a cross between american and japanese animation. (Looks American but has the little sweat drops next to peoples heads etc.)
Anyway..whatchoo folks think?

2. a friend of mine is reviving Captain Marvel |

my friend (Jeff Smith; I was his first hire at a small animation studio 19 years ago) is doing a four part comic that will bring back Captain Marvel sometime early next year (I think). Jeff is fairly liberal, and will be including an "Ashcroftian" villian in the series. It should be interesting! His series "bone" has generated a lot of interest (and even some options) from animation studios, and I'm sure the new Captain Marvel will receive the same. :-)
