Company won't let K. Clarkson promote own product until she loses weight
If anything, you can tell that since she has won American Idol - Kelly Clarkson has definately lost weight but this is just utterly ridiculous!

http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix/thin_or_else_pagesix_.htm

July 7, 2006 -- KELLY Clarkson has agreed to promote her own flavor of Vitamin Water. The only catch is the company won't announce the deal until the "American Idol" winner loses some more weight. Last year, 50 Cent endorsed his own flavor of the trendy sports drink, which is said to have 50 percent of the daily vitamin requirements. The muscular rapper actually looks like he's in robust health. Clarkson looks like she could lose a few pounds. Since the brand is all about fitness and health, she's been put on a strict diet and the deal is secret until she slims down.

12. Keeping trim? She's already trim
they want her to go for the Herion/Anoerectic Chic look.

I'm not a Kelly Clarkson fan and never watched American Idol. But I do know she has legions of fans including young girls who hope one day they can grow up and be just like her. These girls start starving themselves and suddenly it impresses their young fans that starvation, smoking (which is considered a weight lost product for these young starlets) and super-skinny is the only way to be beautiful.

And for all the criticism I could find about Ms. Clarkson - at least she looks healthy. If Kelly was smart she'd go tell the company to go shove it up her ass

13. Kelly does write songs
She wrote or co-wrote nine of the songs on her last album -- the one that was such a huge hit. And she plays the guitar and I believe the piano. According to her she's going for a much harder-edged Janis Joplin sound (which is what she wanted for BREAKAWAY) on her third CD.

I've been reading about Kelly promoting the water for a while. She's made appearances at schools for it. So the timing of this item seems a little odd to me.

15. I must respectfully disagree
I won't call out anyone who criticizes her for being on American Idol, but for anyone to say this girl can't sing is just wrong, in my opinion.

A lot of people that "perform" on that show are no talent ass clowns. Kelly Clarkson, however, is not one of them. I'm not crazy about the material she sings, but she sings it well.

Again, JMO.

55. Well, I'm sorry.
But I do think a size 10 is kind of chunky - especially considering sizes are so much larger than they used to be. It's subjective, of course. I would not want to be a size 10, but then I am 5'6" and small-boned. But I do think Kelly looks a little (not a lot!) overweight in pictures lately. I am entitled to my opinion. It's not a value judgement.

66. Definitely not true - in fact, they've proven it
http://jscms.jrn.columbia.edu/cns/2005-04-19/whitford-vanitysizing

If you google "clothing sizes getting larger" you can find a myriad of links. It's called "vanity sizing". I'll give you an example: when I was in high school, I weighed about 95 pounds (I am 5'6"). I wore a size zero.

Now? I am still 5'6" but I weigh 123 pounds. Guess what size I wear? At Ann Taylor, the Gap, and Old Navy, I am STILL a size zero. In most other stores, I am a 2. And I am not super-skinny, not Lindsey Lohan skinny. Fifteen years ago, a size zero was built like her - protruding ribcage and collar bones, etc. Now, it's like a normal thin girl.

America is getting hugely fat, but nobody wants to buy larger sizes, so the clothing maufacturers just change the measurements to make an 8 or whatever larger.

39. My bad. I guess what I'm saying is
When your appearance is of more importance than your music, chances are you're making shitty music. And, maybe---maybe---if Clarkson had some more time to actually learn her craft instead of "winning" the chance to be Simon Cowell & Co.'s first show dog in the States, she could have done that. Instead, she makes shitty music, and shills products for the highest , and more than likely sees the least amount of money from any of the work. All the while, we collectively get even dumber as this is pumped through airwaves.

63. Problem
Her biggest problem is that her voice may not be up to singing the kind of hard rock she wants to do. She has to cancel quite a few shows each time she tours because she gets voice issues. It's probably due to the fact that she tends to get "yelly" when she does rock. She has a lovely voice which I think is more suited for pop and R&B.

Also, she had been knocking around the industry for a while before IDOL. There was even some talk that she might forfeit her IDOL crown because she had done some backup singing for other artists. And she's been writing songs since she was very young.

Why, soon people wold be happy being as fat as a toothpick, then they'd grow to be happy with whatever size they were, and then they'd stop craving the unattainable starvation-induced bodies of celebrities, and then what would the entertainment idustry have to sell us? Entertainment? What would the trendy pop-food and drink industry have to sell us? Quality food and beverages? How the hell would they market that? No more "Drink tons of our product so you will grow helplessly envious of the models who advertise but couldn't possibly use our products." People might start wanting quality instead of unattainability, for chrissakes!!
