Friday Shoe Blogging
I got these on Monday along with another pair. I had some money from a recently discovered birthday card from my parents that had been buried underneath some bills and junk mail on the mail desk at home. And I needed some new shoes, so I went to Nordstrom Rack, for something on the less expensive side that might be a year or two out of date, not that out of date matters in Portland, Oregon (or anywhere else). They're comfortable, decent to look at, and they may last a while, if previous pairs from the same maker are any indication. Anyway, this is my entry. Happy Friday shoe blogging.

Kenneth Cole Reaction leather slip-on

The stock quotes from the Stall Seat Journal are provided in the event that anyone's monkey is itching to throw some darts.

5. I'll try this again! Those are very stylish and comfy looking!
I love those shoes. Mr. CB needs a pair like that.

Kenneth Cole has great ad campaigns. The ads have socially conscious messages.

10. Mr. CB is fortunate indeed to have you looking after his
Friday Shoe Blogging needs.

Have you ever seen any Kenneth Cole ads that have to do with Election Reform? If so, perhaps my oops was not so inexcusable.

The ads are always really thought provoking and the photography is really good. The shoes are nice too!

Guess what? I touched some kudzu the other day! (Or maybe it touched me...) A big vine grew out form the woods to where I park my truck at the farm where my horse lives. The vine stems are tomentose (hairy) and the leaves are soft and bright green. The drought doesn't seem to phase kudzu due to it's awesome and enormous tap root system. ;)

14. Whenever I see that word "kudzu," I hear the lazy drawl of
Tennessee Williams in my tiny mind's ear.

Congratulations on your kudzu-touching experience. You should consider opening a theme park.

19. Keep 'em shined.
Every time I see a guy wearing dress shoes that obviously haven't been shined since they were taken out of the box, I puke in my mouth a little. And use a shoe horn and shoe trees, fer Jeebus' sake.

'Sides, an on-the-foot shine while reading the paper is a great old-timey experience. Even better if you're smoking a cigar and wearing a top hat.

But after all that bloviating, here's what I wear every day:

20. Thanks. I get shoe-shines every Wednesday,
but it's nice to have the encouragement to continue in this practice.

I like your shoe. It reminds me of the first pair of Adidas I ever had. I think I was in eighth grade, but I may be wrong.

35. Me too.
I bought my first pair of Kenneth Cole's at Saks about 10 years ago. These things with a double monk strap. It filled me with anxiety to be spending $120 on a pair of shoes. Broke my heart when the damned things finally wore out.
