Subject: Liberal Women

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives’ duties.

The first man had married a fundie woman from Mississippi, and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning that needed done at their house. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

The second man had married an ultra-conservative woman from Texas. He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married this liberal girl from disputed origins. He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye. Enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher, and telephone a landscaper.

So you are saying that in a relationship where one person works and the other doesn't, the one who stays home should just do nothing all day and the working spouse should be grateful for the company when they come home and have to work a second full time job?

So if the situation were reversed, and the joke was a woman working and a man at home, it wouldn't be funny right? Because men deserve to be beaten up and insulted at every turn, for no other reason than their gender.

I get really sick of all the crap here on DU where men can be freely bashed (and even have violence performed against them in your "joke") and it's ok, but the moment a man makes the same joke, only it is on women... watch out here come the alerts/locks/bans. If a man is beaing bashed, beaten, castrated, murdered, tortured, maimed or any of ten thousand other things it's "just a joke" and I am "overreacting".

If it's a women in the same exact circumstances it would be "disgusting", "horrifying", "sexist" and definately "not something to joke about" and all the liberal women who would come charging forward to hit the alert button and screaming for blood would be "justified".

therefore the female would be at home taking care of the house/raising kids etc.
