Happiest song EVER - your thoughts?
What's the song that always puts you in a good mood... the one that makes you smile and sing along even when you're feeling down? The one that makes you tap your feet, and makes you want to get up and wiggle your butt (when nobody is watching).

Go on... tell!

6. Rave On~Buddy Holly

Little things you say and do
Make me want to be with you
Rave on, this crazy feelin'
And I know it's got me reelin'
When you say I love you, rave on

The way you dance and hold me tight
The way you kiss and say goodnight
Rave on, this crazy feelin'
And I know it's got me reelin'
When you say I love you, rave on

Rave on, this crazy feelin'
And I know it's got me reelin'
I'm so glad that you're revealing
Your love for me

Rave on, rave on and tell me
Tell me not to be lonely
Tell me you love me only
Rave on to me

8. I'm the Happiest Girl~Donna Fargo
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 06:06 PM by wildhorses
Now shine on me sunshine,
Walk with me world
It's a skip-a-dee-doo-dah day
I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.

Good morning, morning, hello sunshine
Wake up sleepy head
Now why'd we move on that beanjungle clock
So far away from the bed?

Just one more minute, that's why we moved
It's one more hug or two
Do you love wakin' up next to me
As much as I love wakin' up next to you?

You make the coffee I'll make the bed
I'll fix your lunch and you'll fix mine
Tell me the truth do these old shoes look funny?
Honey, it's almost nine.

Now, you'll be careful, gotta go
I love you, have a beautiful day
And kiss the happiest girl
In the whole U.S.A.

Skip-a-dee-doo-dah
Thank you Lord for making him for me
And thank you for letting life turn out
The way that I always thought it could be.

There once was a time
When I could not imagine
How it would feel to say
I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.I'

Now shine on me sunshine
Walk with me world
It's a skip-a-dee-doo-dah day
I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.

Now shine on me sunshine
Walk with me world
It's a skip-a-dee-doo-dah day
I'm the happiest girl in the whole U.S.A...

10. Centerfield~John Fogerty
Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We’re born again, there’s new grass on the field.
A-roundin’ third, and headed for home, it’s a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.

Oh, put me in, coach - I’m ready to play today;
Put me in, coach - I’m ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be centerfield.

Well, I spent some time in the mudville nine, watchin’ it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the mighty casey struck out.
So say hey willie, tell ty cobb and joe dimaggio;
Don’t say "it ain’t so", you know the time is now.

Yeah! I got it, I got it!

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it’s time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch ’em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) it’s gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Me gotta go, pole the pirogue down the bayou.
My yvonne, sweetest one, me oh my oh.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo
’cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio.
Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gayo,
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

Thibodeaux, fontaineaux, the place is buzzin’,
Kinfolk come to see yvonne by the dozen.
Dress in style, go hog wild, and be gayo.
Son of a gun, gonna have big fun on the bayou.

19. Don't Worry~ Bobby McFerrin
Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy......

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy

(Alert pages were a notepad function on one of my mainframes. They were SUPPOSED to be for work-related information, but that's not what WE used them for...)

Don't Worry, Be Happy
by Ron Turner

Here's a little song I wrote
Wrote it while I was smokin' dope
Don't worry, be happy

I killed my mom, I killed my dad
Then stuffed them in a garbage bag
Don't worry, be happy

The dope lord says your coke is late
And he may have to smash your face
Don't worry, be happy

Here's a little song I wrote
You keep on singin', I'll smoke more dope
Don't worry, be happy

Slow down, you move too fast, you've got to make the morning last
Just kickin' down the cobble-stones, lookin' for fun and feelin' groovy

Feeling groovy

Hello lamp-post, what's cha knowing, I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me, do-it-do-do, feelin' groovy

Feeling groovy

I've got no deeds to do, no promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me

Life I love you, all is groovy

33. Oooo! I Like EW&F's "Fantasy"
Every man has a place, in his heart theres a space,
And the world cant erase his fantasies
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasii
All your dreams will come true, right away

And we will live together, until the twelfth of never
Our voices will ring forever, as one

Every thought is a dream, rushing by in a stream,
Bringing life to our kingdom of doing
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship fantasii
All your dreams will come true, miles away

Our voices will ring together until the twelfth of never,
We all, will live forever, as one

Come see victory, in the land called fantasy
Loving life, a new decree,
Bring your mind to everlasting liberty

Our minds will explore together, old worlds, we conquer, forever
We then, will expand love together, as one

Come to see, victory in a land called fantasy,
Loving life, for you and me, to behold, to your soul is ecstasy
You will find, other kind, that has been in search for you,
Many lives has brought you to
Recognize its your life, now in review
And as you stay for the play, fantasy, has in store for you,
A glowing light will see you through

Its your day, shining day, all your dreams come true
As you glide, in your stride with the wind, as you fly away
Give a smile, from your lips, and say
I am free, yes Im free, now Im on my way

31. Down On The Corner~CCR
Early in the evenin' just about supper time,
Over by the courthouse they're starting to unwind.
Four kids on the corner trying to bring you up.
Willy picks a tune out and he blows it on the harp.

Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.

Rooster hits the washboard and people just got to smile,
Blinky, thumps the gut bass and solos for a while.
Poorboy twangs the rhythm out on his kalamazoo.
Willy goes into a dance and doubles on kazoo.
Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.

Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.

You don't need a penny just to hang around,
But if you've got a nickel, won't you lay your money down?
Over on the corner there's a happy noise.
People come from all around to watch the magic boy.

Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.

Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';
Bring a nickel; tap your feet.

Down On The Corner, out in the street,
Willy and the Poorboys are playin';

32. Dweller On A Threshold~Van Morrison
I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I'm waiting at the door
And I'm standing in the darkness
I don't want to wait no more

I have seen without perceiving
I have been another man
Let me pierce the realm of glamour
So I know just what I am

I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I'm waiting at the door
And I'm standing in the darkness
I don't want to wait no more

Feel the angel of the present
In the mighty crystal fire
Lift me up consume my darkness
Let me travel even higher

I'm a dweller on the threshold
As I cross the burning ground
Let me go down to the water
Watch the great illusion drown

I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I'm waiting at the door
And I'm standing in the darkness
I don't want to wait no more

I'm gonna turn and face the music
The music of the spheres
Lift me up consume my darkness
When the midnight disappears

I will walk out of the darkness
And I'll walk into the light
And I'll sing the song of ages
And the dawn will end the night

I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I'm waiting at the door
And I'm standing in the darkness
I don't want to wait no more

I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I cross some burning ground
And I'll go down to the water
Let the great illusion drown

I'm a dweller on the threshold
And I'm waiting at the door
And I'm standing in the darkness
I don't want to wait no more

I'm a dweller on the threshold
Dweller on the threshold
I'm a dweller on the threshold
I'm a dweller on the threshold

39. I really wanted to say "You Light Up My Life"
but this will have to do. Makes me think of my baby.

Every time we meet
Everything is sweet
Ooh, you're so tender
I must surrender
My love is your love
Now and forever

You're the one that I long to kiss
Baby, you're the one that I really miss
You're the one that I'm dreaming of
Baby, you're the one that I love

Keep me in your heart
Never let us part
Ooh, never leave me
Please don't deceive me
I want you only
You must believe me

You're the one that I long to kiss.
Baby, you're the one that I really miss.
You're the one that I'm dreaming of
Baby, you're the one that I love.

I adore you
And no one before you
Could make me feel this way
Since I met you
I just can't forget you
I love you more each day

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

There may be some tears
Through the coming years
Ooh, all the while
I know you'll be smilin'
You love will guide me
Though every mile 'cause

You're the one that I long to kiss
Baby, you're the one that I really miss
You're the one that I'm dreaming of
Baby, you're the one that I love
(repeat to fade)

Dancing In The Moonlight
( King Harvest )

We get it on most every night
When that old moon gets so big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You can't dance and stay uptight
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark, and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

next on the list:

Artist: Eric Burdon & WAR Lyrics
Song: Spill the Wine Lyrics

Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl
Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl

I was once out strolling one very hot summer's day
When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest
in a big field of tall grass
I lay there in the sun and felt it caressing my face

And I fell asleep and dreamed
I dreamed I was in a Hollywood movie
And that I was the star of the movie
This really blew my mind, the fact that me,
an overfed, long-haired leaping gnome
should be the star of a Hollywood movie

But there I was, I was taken to a place, the hall of the mountain kings
I stood high upon a mountain top, naked to the world
In front of every kind of girl, there was
black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones...

Out of the middle came a lady
She whispered in my ear something crazy
She said:

Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl
Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl

I thought to myself what could that mean
Am I going crazy or is this just a dream
Now, wait a minute
I know I'm lying in a field of grass somewhere
so it's all in my head
and then.. I heard her say one more time:

Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl
Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl

I could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back
As she disappeared, but soon she returned
In her hand was a bottle of wine, in the other, a glass
She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the glass
And raised it to her lips
And just before she drank it, she said:

Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl
Spill the wine and take that pearl, Spill the wine and take that pearl

and lastly:

Artist: White Plains Lyrics
Song: My Baby Loves Lovin' Lyrics

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

I was lonely once in this great big world
(Great big world)
Just a nowhere man without his girl
When she came my way

She smiled at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

She's the only one makes me feel so good
Believing in my lovin' so I'm all gone good
All my sorrows and fears seem to fly away
She looks at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it
For me

No more lonely nights waiting for the phone to ring
No more lonely days my baby's taken care of everything
I'm telling you people

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it

She's the only one makes me feel so good
Believing in my lovin'
All my sorrows and fears seem to fly away
She looks at me as if to say

My baby loves love
My baby loves lovin'
She's got what it takes
And she know how to use it...

44. Surprised no one picked John Philip Sousa !
My hat.

Some hats are shaped like Oklahoma
Some hats are shaped like the Zuider Zee
Some hats are small & dusty objects
Some hats look like me
Some hats are thinking caps,
unmindful of their dinghy flaps
Some hats are springboks,
startled by low-flying trucks
O-we-o-we-i
I don't want to know why

Some hats tumble & fly through the air
Some hats sit on foam heads & stare
O-we-o-we-i
Please don't ask me why
O-we-o-we-i
I don't want to know why

It does it for Neil Peart too. Watch "Rush in Rio" or "A Show of Hands" and, until Alex starts playing the intro riff to this song, Neil looks like he just got done eating a pound of raw lemons. Then Spirit of Radio kicks in, and Neil looks like someone left a triple helping of poutine for him in the dressing room. It's just a fun song.

73. C+C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)
Everybody Dance now ...
Everybody Dance now ...
Give me the music
Give me the music
Everybody Dance now ...
Everybody Dance now ...
Yeah ... Yeah ... Yeah
Everybody Dance now ...
Yeah ... Yeah ... Yeah
Everybody Dance now ...

Here is the doe, back with the bass
The jam is live in effect and I don't waste time
Or the mike if it don't rhyme
Jump to the rhythm jump jump to the rhythm jump
And I'm here to provide
Peace and lyrics to make your shake your pants
Take a chance, come on and dance
Guys grab a girl, don't wait, make a whirl
It's your world and I'm just a swirl
Trying to get a nut to move your butt
To the dance floor, so yo what's up
Hands in the air, Come on say yeah,
everybody over here everybody over there
the crowd is live and I feel this groove
Party people in the house
Move ... (Let your mind)
Move ... (Put me online)
(Chorus)
Come on let's sweat, baby
Let the music take control
Let the rhythm move you
Sweat, sweat
Let the music take control
Let the rhythm move you
Everybody dance now ...
Da da da da
da da da da
da da da da, da da da
da da da da, da da da
la da da da
la da da da
dum da dum da dum
everybody dance now

Pause take a breath go for yours
On my command now hit the dance floors
I'm gonna make you sweat till you bleed
Is that ... enough, indeed
I pay the price, control the dice
I'm more precise, to a point I'm nice
The music takes control, your heart and soul
Oh, your body is free and a whole
Dance till you can't dance
Till you can't dance no more
Get on the floor and get warm
Then come back and upside down
Easy now, let me see ya
Move ... (Let your mind)
Move ... (Put me online)
The music is my life ...
everybody dance now ...
everybody dance now ...
everybody dance now ...
everybody ...
(Repeat Chorus)

82. O.K.--this is gonna sound a little lame, but....
there was a T.V. show called "Greatest American Hero", and every now and then I hear the theme for that show on the radio. I love it and it just lifts my spirits way up:

Look at what’s happened to me,
I can’t believe it myself.
Suddenly I’m up on top of the world,
It should’ve been somebody else.

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it’s just me.

It’s like a light of a new day,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true.

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be? Believe it or not it’s just me.

Their 2 albums are all the "manic" in my manic-depressive music selections. Every song sounds like it could be for the closing scene of an epic motion picture, and if you see them live, you can't help but feel what can only be described as bliss.

Oh, and their cover of Bowie's "Five Years" is just unreal.

99. Happienss Pie - Kids In The Hall
Happiness and sunbeams and cute little puppy dogs
These are the things that I've seen with my heart
Life is a happy game if you don't forget to smile
But every now and then, your face, it harbors a frown.

Sadness is a barnacle clinging to your bright boat
You won't let it sink your spirits if you'll only learn to float.
We are all sea captains, sailing on life's rough seas
Come on you Magellan's, come with me
I've got Pie; Happiness Pie.

I guess you want to know what's in this pie. Well, there's two cups love, a cup and a half of understanding. A tablespoon of good old-fashioned compassion. Sugar to taste, and you know what..
The ovens are our hearts.

Happiness Pie.

See the sad man in the corner, he is gross and he is old
People steal his shoes and make him eat mold.
His life won't be bad if he does what he is told.
He should be an alchemist, and turn his pain into gold. Golden Pie.

Happy tailors, happy workers, happy farmers, happy girls, happy widowers, happy free-lance artists, happy welders, happy world, happy drinkers, happy thinkers, happy musicians, happy beauticians, happy mayors, happy pears, happy call girls, happy hula boys.

Happiness Pie... Happiness Pie....Happiness Pie

101. "Happy Happy Joy Joy"
Hello, boys and girls.
This is your old pal, Stinky Wizzleteats.
This is a song about a whale. No!
This is a song about being happy!
That's right!
It's the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

I don't think you're happy enough!
That's right! I'll teach you to be happy!
I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs!
Now, boys and girls, let's try it again!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

If you aint the grandaddy of all liars!
The little critters of nature... They don't know that they're ugly!
That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumblebee!
I told you I'd shoot! But you didn't believe me!
Why didn't you believe me?!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy

Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

107. Strange to say...probably has to be something renaissance, nothing actuall
actually happy.

Ironically one of the best pieces is the Absolution Responsary from Victoria's Requiem, or Allegri's Miserere Mei.

"Happy music" more tends to irritate me if I'm in a bad mood, whereas this can gently sooth me, and then cheer me.
