4. I had it on while I was making lasagne
why I'm cooking in the wee hours is a long story

I think they've all been terrific as Superman, but George Reeves, although seemingly less equipped physically to play the role, seemed to nail the comic book character.

5. Chris Reeve for me
I believe, he will always be "my" superman. I didn't grow up with the George Reeves superman, so of course I'm a bit biased, towards my CR...:)

13. I lived in a small town. The grocery store wouldnt keep them...
in stock on a regular basis, so you could never follow a story line...so no comics for me.

I read the Batman graphic novels now. Are there some good Superman graphic novels?

18. Not as good as what you already read.
If I can recommend something else, I personally enjoyed Frank Miller's "Ronin," and J. M. DeMatteis' "Moonshadow."

But really, once you've read Miller's "Dark Knight Returns," there isn't much else worth recommending.

11. I'm for George Reeves
The Superman of my childhood television. They've recently issued that old series on DVD. I think I'll keep the memories, rather than risk spoiling it through adult eyes.

14. the best supermans are the cartoons
the new ones...superman tas and justice league...as for the live action...i guess george reeve from my childhood will always be superman in my mind...his version of clark kent was perfect spot on...as was his superman...these days both clark and supes are portrayed as too "childlike" for me...it'a superMAN...not superboy...

15. None of the above!

To be honest I don't think of any actor really - in my head Superman is the character I grew up reading on the printed page. I guess I would say that Christopher Reeve came the closest to living up to my idea of Superman but when I think of the character he isn't the first thing that pops into my head!

17. Mr. Reeve for me. Also, what about Superboy (1989) and the positively
rubbish Dean Cain in "Lois and Farce Clark - The New Adventures of Superman" (1995)?
