The Dixie Chicks new album

[AAARRRGGGHHH]

I wanted to like it because of who they are and what she did, but goddam it's a great album.

Has anyone else found themselves liking it just 'cause, only to find that it's the best album released this year? Seriously, it's really REALLY good.

3. It just might be my favorite of the year so far

And I've bought a lot this year, as usual. The more I think about it, the more I think the new one might just be tied with their others. Wide Open Spaces and Fly were inventive pop/country, Home was a great bluegrass CD, and Taking The Long Way effectively mixes Southern rock with pop and bluegrass. Every one of their CDs is a masterpiece.

I am proud to be supporting them!

4. I totally agree!

When I bought it at the Starbucks Hear Music store the guy behind the counter was so excited and talked about how they sold out on the first day it came out and how this is their best album yet!!!

I have always loved them and new I would like it but WOW it really is a fantastic album and I can't stop listening to it in my car. I can't wait till their concert in Oct here to get to see them.

5. I don't like country music as a rule

I downloaded the album partly to increase their sales and cheese off the conservatives and also to make a copy for my friend who loves the Dixie Chicks. However I found that I sort of like the album myself.

It really is closer to The Eagles ca. 1976 than to country. That's fine with me; I hate country music.

8. I bought it a couple of weeks ago as a show of support...

I'd never really listened to them - MAN - Was I EVER impressed. I love this CD. It's one of the best I've heard in I can't remember when. I love "Lullaby" (I think it's so romantic and sweet). And, of course, "Not ready to make nice" really sums it all up. These ladies are heroes in my eyes. I saw them on Larry King and was incredibly impressed.
