Poll question: Do Any Of Your Pets Have RFID Chips Implanted In Them?
Our little Mitzi has one of the "Home Again" radio frequency identification chips implanted below the scruff of her neck... just between her shoulder blades. It's been there for almost 6 years and it's still working fine. Every other visit to the vet, the doctor uses an RFID reader to make certain the chip is still working.

Here's some info on the Home Again chip. There's at least one other manufacturer... but this one seems to be the most popular one that nearly all vets and animal shelters recognize.

1. Yes, my pup's a rescue and it's a requirement. That and neutering.

3. Yes. One of our dogs does.
We need to get our other dog microchipped too. It's totally worth the expense.

I should ask our vet if they can check to see if Abby's is still working. She got it three years ago. Didn't know they could do that at the vet.

5. Home Again is good
but Avid is the one that supplied all shelters with free scanners and made them available at cost to vets.

Definitely have your animals checked if the chips are older...or your animals like being vacuumed. A strong emf can scramble the chips. We had to have one dog rechipped because of it.
