I Fucking HATE AMERICAN BEER!!11!!1
Yes, and I know there are some decent microbreweries, but even then, some of them tend to add "blueberry" and "strawberry" flavors to their beer, and what the fuck is up with that.

Give me Heineken, Stella Artois and when I want something light, I'll drink Tecate.

2. I once tried a micro brew called "Crazy Ed's Cave Creek Chili
Edited on Sun Jul-09-06 02:04 PM by leeroysphits
Beer" Each bottle had a BIG chili pepper sitting at the bottom.

It was undrinkable. The beer may have tasted all right but I wouldn't know since after the first two sips my taste buds were all singed off.

I guess I'd take strawberry over that but I'm with you: there's nothing wrong with good beer tasting like BEER.

5. I've had that before and it was nasty
I really like spicy foods so a friend bought a six-pack of that beer thinking I would like it. As you said, it was undrinkable. And I tried to like it out of courtesy for my friend, but there was just no way.

6. Samuel Adams Summer Ale
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, Burning River Pale Ale, or Elliot Ness Amber Lager (for a lighter touch), all excellent micro-brews.
Bass Ale
Guinness
Heineken
Sparhawk, if you ever get to Maine or Mass. Great tasting lighter ale.

......in no particular order. But the large breweries should just go into the ethanol business and stop foisting their 'beer' on the human race.

Ben Franklin would cry if he had to drink a Budweiser product.

9. I am not a beer drinker,
Edited on Sun Jul-09-06 02:57 PM by RebelOne
but when I do have any beer, I drink Guinness Stout. In fact, I traveled to Dublin, Ireland mainly so that I could have it on tap in an Irish pub.

11. just stay away from most of the mass produced stuff....
There are LOTS of great American beers. There are at least half a dozen excellent breweries within a hundred mile radius of my house, for example, including one a couple of blocks away (Mad River Brewery). If your beer store doesn't carry beer made by some of the excellent west coast breweries (like Anderson Valley Brewing Co., for a delicious example), then you need to buy your beer elsewhere, my friend!

12. Microbrews are hit or miss.
Some are frightening, but there is one near my parents' called Dogfish Head that makes Really good beer.
