1. Cassandra Uprising?
Will you please explain this? I must not be as big of a fan as I thought I was because I don't know what you're talking about.

I will also hope to go to South Africa, in 2010, if I can afford it. The only problem is how to watch the majority of games...it takes almost a whole day traveling each way...so, would it be better to miss games in the beginning or middle? It would definitely not be an option to have to travel back during the final! How could one afford the whole 2 weeks there, though!

6. I think your best bet would be to pick one site to watch games.
Then while there are no games in that city, go explore a bit. :)

It would be expensive, but if you went with a large group, maybe you could rent a house or condo and split the costs.

2. YEP!
It did suck! I watched the entire thing because I am a fanatic soccer fan but I have to say that it sucked! Too many low scoring, OT's and PSO's. The final was decided on PSO! I hate that!

This world cup reminded me of Italy 1990.

FIFA will provide us with a better show in South Africa 2010! I think they are going to make some rule chances to help with the goal average.

4. The matches weren't the best
most times. Too much defense.

BUT the fans and people on the streets - a complete different matter. It was 4 weeks party in Germany. It was great!! I am happy I could be part of it. Germany showed itself and the world that we aren't as horrible as a lot thought. KUDOS for that!!!!

14. Was Du gesagt hast!
The Amis have NO POINT OF REFERENCE for the WONDERFUL WEEKS-LONG party we've had here, welcoming guests from all over the world, wearing silly hats and hearing game scores on public transport. Wir waren ein SUPER Gastgeber und s'war gar nicht nötig für uns ALLES zu gewinnen. Die Zeit war einfach GEIL.

7. Too many teams
Were determined not to lose instead of trying to win. For some smaller footballing nations drawing a game 0-0 in a game against a major nation is equivalent to winning, so they get every player behind the ball and defend for 90 minutes. It makes for pretty poor viewing.

Some teams just never really showed what they're capable of. Brazil & England won games but are capable of playing far superior football to how they played in the tournament.

And finally, they need to get a real handle on diving. Some of the playacting was disgraceful.

12. Good picks for sure, but as an actor by trade,
I had to sit back and take notes in how the Italians played against the Germans. There commitment was so intense.

8. I fell in love with the game in this world cup
I played soccer in grade school, basketball was more fun and I played more minutes on the court than I ever did on the field. I forgot, excuse the cliche, how beautiful the game is. It's like live action chess. So many of these games were played poorly and yet squads that were outplayed often won.

:wow: vs. :woohoo:

Chavez and I have decided that we want to set up our lives up in such a way that when 2010 comes around, we will be there. Period.

So I give my condolences to all of us who are orphaned for another four years. The World Cup on the African Continent will be magnificent.

15. Well, I would have preferred an Argentina-Brazil final.
But both the English and Germans were kept at bay, so it was a good cup!
