After watching the Supergroup marathon on VH1 I learned a lesson
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 09:28 AM by LynneSin
The concept of the show was to take 5 big names in Rock, have them live 2 weeks in a really guady mansion in Las Vegas and make them put together a concert at the end of the two weeks that included a brand new song.

Normally I would avoid stuff like this ESPECIALLY when the Lead Guitar player is none other than right-wing brain dead asshole Ted Nugent. But I watched it because of the other reason - the drummer was Jason Bonham, very talented son of the late great Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.

After spending about 5 hours watching this show (I was doing my Saturday afternoon housecleaning), I realized that the biggest asshole was not Ted Nugent - as much as the Nuge annoys me, he is who he is and he's pretty laid back overall. The biggest asshole was Sebastian Bach who absolutely thinks he's some sort of rock god, but in all reality he's nothing more than a pretty boy who lucked out in the 80s-90s with a second rate metal bad Skid Row. The guy has a serious drinking problem and sorry Sebastian, it's pretty hard to feel for the "I drink because my daddy died at age 57" act when the drummer of your supergroup lost dad when he was only 7 and his father was 36. (BTW, Bonham turned out great - doesn't drink, great drumming and really level headed. When the gang decided to go blow things up with Nuge and the automatic weapons, Bonham declined saying he didn't really think it would be appropriate for his kids to see him using guns on TV).

And btw, Bach can't sing worth a shit. Each member of the Supergroup provided one song from their original band to use for the concert with Jason Bonham offering LZ's "Out on the Tiles" (It was actually offered by Page/Plant to the group since the song came from a ditty that John Bonham would sing when he was going to the bars). Bach couldn't sing that worth a shit!

So my lesson learned - just because you're a right-wing idiot asshole doesn't mean you're not entertaining to watch on TV. I'd rather watch the Nuge again any day over that totally brain dead, clueless asshole Sebastian Bach any day of the week. I don't like Nuge's politics but after watching the show I did respect him for who he is. Bach is just an idiot
