They don't start around here for at least a month yet the stores have had the supplies in stock since probably late June (if not earlier).

2. August 28, but teachers go back Aug. 23.
We don't really get three months off... we didn't get out until mid-June. Not that I'm complaining! LOL

8. Late August.
I can't remember the exact date. Most stores will start "Back to School" in at least the middle of June.

10. year rounds started yesterday!
Modified year rounds can start anytime after now; Traditional starts mid Aug. I don't remember exactly 'cause we're moving to WI and school starts there after labor day.

Of course that's for my PS younger son (public schooled) - for my hs (homeschooled) son - learning takes place 24/7/365!

11. snap 'em up
I know Staples is having some super "early sales" on school supplies this week. I just bought a bunch of those black and white composition books just 'cause I like them.

Schools around here have been starting in July!!! But the FL legislature recently passed a law to stop that, I think.

12. There have been many parents in this area arguing for later
starts because "kids don't get enough vacation time." They used to start in mid-August, but this year it's the last week of August.

I don't have kids, so it doesn't make a lot of difference to me, but my sister does and wishes they'd keep it in mid-August.

17. Most schools start after Labor Day
but some do start earlier, it depends on the district on the state. It used to be mandatory to start after Labor Day, now it is optional.
