I hate showtunes
Rogers and Hammerstein, Rogers and Hart, Gilbert and Sullivan, Weber and Rice - all of them. Can't stand musicals.

Am I a bad person?

1. Yes. There is no business like show business, like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing.

2. Some of it's good--maybe you'll see the light like with Dylan
Only this time it will be a multi-colored flashing spotlight that you see.

4. Don't think that will ever happen
With Dylan, I could always realize his genius was in his lyrics.

With showtunes, I feel the need to slap all of the performers silly with a trout

But to each his own

7. No...
Hell, it's a long day. I misposted.

I despise Lloyd Webber. Tedious, boring claptrap.

13. Please rethink the idea of musicals. West Side Story, South Pacific....
The King and I, ....many, many more had themes on racism.

On Broadway: musical theater has tackled racism for decades, albeit covertly at times

15. Sure they may have good ideas behind them
But when they sing in the middle of a tense moment - sorry, that just loses me

16. Huh, you don't do that? You mean my life isn't really a...
semi-tragic musical comedy??? Oh, woe. No wonder the kids laugh when I break into song.... everywhere, store, movies...
