I am a Klutz. **Warning to the sqeamish, like me* |
|
Last night I was going to get little Miss Kitten from her nest in my daughter's loft so I could give her her medicine. I basically jumped up and balanced myself on the edge of the bed so I could reach out and grab her. Then I came down, gracefully as ever, on (get this) a perfectly positioned AC/DC adapter cord end. The end where it goes into the GameBoy... and I heard it... and it hurt like hell...and I am proud of myself for not passing out...and thanks for MrG otherwise I would have...
I can't even walk. Crazy, eh? The area around it is bruised. (yes I have talked to my doctor) I am lucky that it didn't break off or I would have passed out. I had to cancel my schedule today... Good golly what a goof.

5. I dunno. But practical experience has shown me |
|
that it tends to happen at the single most inconvenient time; so even confirmed Atheists begin to believe in the supernatural influences of a mysterious being named "Murphy."
It's good to see you, too. I need to spend more time loafing around online with my pals. One more  just for the heck of it.

...the top of my bare foot one time. Trust me, you'll only do something like that one time. I'm sure people all over the world heard me scream in pain that day.
Check in if you were one of them.

4. I quite possibly was one of them. |

I frightened the hell out of my son by breaking into huge sobs. From the pain...and the thought of messing up my life for the next few days. :hi:

I'll tell you who's tough, that's Mrs. DTW. She cuts and bruises herself all the time and doesn't even realize she's done anything until she sees blood or I say, "where'd you get that bruise?"
In the mean time play it up more and use it to your advantage. Make the rest of the "Grumpy" family wait on you and bring stuff to you. While they're at it, make them run out and get you something good for lunch :hi:

8. MrG was really awfully sweet about it all. |
|
knowing I couldn't stand the sight of it, he took care of it. He layered a washcloth, and then ice, and then a handtowel over it and duct taped the whole thing and put it on a pillow, covered me with a blanket and gave me a kiss on the forehead. He can be so tender. Then he went and picked up the new kitten and cuddled with her in the lazy boy. this reads like a bad romance novel, doesn't it? But, I swear, someone should put out a calendar with men holding kittens. :) :hi: Thanks DTW!

My son is doing a good job of fetching for me, but I can't wait to walk around again. I had to cancel my work schedule. :(

Yesterday in my "what did I miss" post I wrote about how I came to have a purple right knee. Only one of the four contributing incidents involved me being a spaz though. I did the comical one foot & arm on the boat and one foot & arm on the dock after the boat got rocked and started to drift away while I was trying to tie the bow to the dock. Of course, this had to be on the boat with the high rail around the bow making it much harder to step over.
The rest of the knee bangs were more the result of having fun with risk-taking activities.
My hip bruise is finally going away. A very drunk gay boy tried to tackle me onto the pile of people on the bed, but he just tackled me sideways into a dresser. Silly gay boys that can't hold their liquor.

I am glad I am not alone.
We have a new critter at our house. Not a gecko but a hermit crab. Man are they fun to watch. His name is "Jeff" ( my son's pet). You should see him switch shells. :)

About a week ago (right before the 4th), I was at work coming back from a trip from the water fountain with a steaming hot mug of hot water for my tea. Mind you, my tea cup wasn't some dainty mug but this oversize 24oz mug - almost a soup bowl with a handle.
So in a nutshell - my ankle twists in and I go straight down. The mug of steaming hot water covers the inside of my right arm and now I have massive blisters all over my arm. It was disgusting looking

This a puncture right in the middle of my arch, with a purplish black bruise ( so MrG tells me...I refuse to look at it)...
It was the noise that happened when I stepped on it that made me want to pass out...
...That sounds awful...I hope you are feeling better.
