Dammit. I ate 45 minutes ago. And 90 minutes before that. |
|
I'm STARVING.
AGAIN.
If I eat, I won't get any sleep.

1. Don't eat! I'm trying to lose weight I gained because my old |
|
antidepressant made me hungry like a wolf, always. I've been eating less for two weeks and have lost six pounds (fast metabolism). By eating less, I mean one healthy meal and two small snacks a day. After a few days I stopped being hungry and I'm going back to skeletal, where I feel most comfortable.
We can not eat - together!

2. Many small meals throughout the day, stopping at 8PM or so... |
|
What you are doing will only slow your metabolism if you keep doing that. (besides, anything more than 2 pounds per week is dangerous and it might come back one day... with interest.)
And doing that will lead to far worse problems down the road.
I'm tracking my blood sugar levels because all the "professionals" are claiming it's just anxiety; the symptoms being caused by anxiety and not hypoglycemia. What I am seeing right now - thanks to a handy piece of technology, is genuine hypoglycemia, suggesting I have to be very careful about what I eat and how I exercise. Indeed, if only my quacks have seen what numerous co-workers have, maybe they'd re-think. Or even think. But I am tracking and can show them the proof when the time is right.
If I don't eat, it catches up with me: I get confused and pale and clammy and sweating very badly. I've got to eat... Or go into a coma if I let it slide for too long. That nearly happened a couple weeks ago. Well, it certainly felt like it and I had no reason to be anxious. The gadget confirmed the situation too. :D
Now I used to do the one meal and two snack thing. Just like that slim fast brand sugar drink, it's an utterly worthless way to do anything good for your body.

3. I have eaten that way all my life, until recently. |

It runs in our family... a small appetite and a fast metabolism. And we all live into our nineties, except my alcoholic grandfather who died at 85. He was a serious alcoholic, but it was congestive heart failure that killed him. Like the conventional wisdom that says eating a good breakfast will help you maintain a healthy weight. Wrong! If I have anything before noon I will immediately see the pounds pile on. I eat at 1:00. And when I'm over my ideal 125lbs, then the issues with my knees flare up. No arthritis or pain at that weight. Gain a couple pounds, and I'm sort of crippled, can't do stairs etc. I believe what is best for our bodies varies very much from body to body. However you tell me everything that is common sense and I can't argue with that. P.S. If I skip all meals, which I can and will do if I'm busy, I get hypoglycemia. I've literally knocked on a stranger's door in the past, and begged for juice or crackers. My only small car accident occurred when I let it go way too long. It's a twice-a-year event and it's horrible, I know.
Obviously you must do what your doctor said! I guess I'm so used to disobeying and getting better that I've developed a bad attitude.
