4. Heh. I for one was saying from the gitgo that there'd never be a draft
Drafts take political courage. If you see Bush as a villainous enemy of everything you believe in, the draft makes a perfect prediction. If you see Bush as a moral coward who exists mostly to line his buddies nest and rob the treasury for short term gains, then a draft is implausible.

6. I predicted when Bush was appointed President
by the SCOTUS that within 6 months the economy would be in the crapper and we would be involved in a war somewhere in the mid-east. I was wrong. It took him 8 months.

On the lighter side, I am old enough to remember predictions that California would fall into the ocean in 1966!

That was one of my beauts, first time I saw one of the mega-Walgreens maybe five or six years ago.

8. That the Wave format would catch on and that it would
push out top forty as the most listened to Format....

I thought for sure aging Baby Boomers would settle into the soft jazz just as our parents settled in to easy listening...

Oh well....

9. Whole ton of them here, but this particular gem caught my eye . . .

"Democracy will be dead by 1950." -- John Langdon-Davies, A Short History of The Future, 1936.

Well, he was about half a century off, right?

10. Back in the early 70's my then neighbors
had some relatives that were Jehovah's Witnesses. We used to hang out with their kids from time to time. One year the world was supposed to end. The parents both quit their jobs and the kids were pulled out of school so they could wait for the end. We moved shortly after that so I never found out what happened to them or how they reacted once they realized the world had not ended.
