1. I did see them at the age of 13 in 1973. It was the loudest concert I have
ever been to.

2. Hahahaha...#9....I did see them live!
in 1977. It was the first concert in Seattle's now-demolished Kingdome. The sound quality was HORRIBLE, but I was quite literally in the front row. I got mono from sharing a doobie on the floor with some guy, though. Lesson to youngsters: don't share a smoke with someone who SAYS he's been sick. :eyes:

3. You left out tentacle sex
1 - Jimmy Page - double guitar or Les Paul?

Banjo!

2 - John Paul Jones - Keyboard or Bass?

Both!

3 - Robert Plant - Led Zep I-Houses or Physical Graffitti and beyond?

Hmm... never thought of it that way. I like it all! Even his solo stuff. Great voice!

4 - John Bonham. No question, just John Bonham - that's all I gotta say about that.

Out of control, unsubtle, and just right for Zep.

5 - Would an Elvis/Led Zep tour have been as cool as it sounds? Explain.

Only if Jimmy Page killed Elvis on stage by impaling him with the broken neck of a '68 Telecaster.

6 - If Jeff Beck played guitar for Led Zep instead of Page, would that have worked?

Nope. Beck has the wrong style. Might still have been a great band, but wouldn't have sounded like Zep we know and love.

7 - Out on the Tiles - was this the most underrated Zep song or not?

It must be, since I thought I knew all the Zeppelin songs, and I don't recognize that one.

8 - Stairway to Heaven - was this the most overrated Zep song or not?

Yes - and even Plant agrees with that.

9 - If you had a chance to see Led Zeppelin live in their prime, how many body parts would you have been willing to give up?

Mine or someone else's?

10 - Bigger druggie: Page or Keith Richards?

Page.

4. So I don't get accused of ignoring another LZ thread
1 - Jimmy Page - double guitar or Les Paul? - Anyone can play the Les Paul (although never as good as JP) but there was something special when he got out the double neck (and even triple neck) and did his thing

2 - John Paul Jones - Keyboard or Bass? - Some of the most memorable earlier songs are with JPJ bass line but it was really his keyboard arranging that saved the band when everyone else in the band was falling apart

3 - Robert Plant - Led Zep I-Houses or Physical Graffitti and beyond? - He was still a raw talent on I so definately Physical Graffiti, the worlds most perfect album

4 - John Bonham. No question, just John Bonham - that's all I gotta say about that. _ The only reason I watched Supergroup was to see Jason Bonham, who is just as talented as his dad. Even with singing non-LZ songs you could hear the Bonham style of drumming, which is pretty unique. Dad would be proud!

5 - Would an Elvis/Led Zep tour have been as cool as it sounds? Explain. _ Led Zeppelin was in awe of Elvis and met him a few times. I would loved to have seen it

6 - If Jeff Beck played guitar for Led Zep instead of Page, would that have worked? - I think it would have been a great sound but not a Zeppelin sound since Beck and Page are so different in style. But Beck was a bit more tempormental and did better having control of his own band. Led Zeppelin was controlled by Page and Peter Grant

7 - Out on the Tiles - was this the most underrated Zep song or not? - It rates up there, btw Plant & Page gave the Supergroup the rights to sing "Out on the Tiles" since Jason was the drummer and it was a song attributed to John going to the bars. SEbastian Bach can't sing worth shit but the rest of the band sounded great

8 - Stairway to Heaven - was this the most overrated Zep song or not? - I can't stand this song merely because too many non-LZ fans think this is THE Led Zeppelin song. Even Robert Plant won't sing it anymore

9 - If you had a chance to see Led Zeppelin live in their prime, how many body parts would you have been willing to give up? - I almost got to see them for what was suppose to be their last tour

10 - Bigger druggie: Page or Keith Richards? - Richards, he was still doing it long after Page cleaned up his act

5. From a die-hard fan...
1 - Jimmy Page - double guitar or Les Paul? I prefer the Les Paul

2 - John Paul Jones - Keyboard or Bass? Bass (but I am biased...I am married to a bass player)

3 - Robert Plant - Led Zep I-Houses or Physical Graffitti and beyond? Everything up TO and including Physical Graffiti...everything beyond that was a disappointment to me

4 - John Bonham. No question, just John Bonham - that's all I gotta say about that. Bonzo rocked.

5 - Would an Elvis/Led Zep tour have been as cool as it sounds? Explain. No, not to me...I was never an Elvis fan, and Zeppelin should not have ever been diluted by any opening act.

6 - If Jeff Beck played guitar for Led Zep instead of Page, would that have worked? Ummm...no, I don't think so. I love Jeff Beck (saw him live a couple of times) but I don't think the chemistry with the others would have been the same, and that's what made Zeppelin Zeppelin!

7 - Out on the Tiles - was this the most underrated Zep song or not? No, it was never my favorite...I think "The Rain Song" never got as much attention as it should have...and I loved "Hangman" too...

8 - Stairway to Heaven - was this the most overrated Zep song or not? YES YES YES YES. "Kashmir" was much better; "Black Dog" was classic; the whole second album was better than this one song (stellar though the guitar solo is...) I can only handle hearing STH about once a year...so many other great tunes to listen to.

9 - If you had a chance to see Led Zeppelin live in their prime, how many body parts would you have been willing to give up? Didn't have to give up any, either time! Saw them two nights back to back, 4/12/77 in Minneapolis and 4/13/77 in St. Paul.

10 - Bigger druggie: Page or Keith Richards? Pretty sure Keith beats about anyone living for being a big druggie; I think Page was more into Jack Daniels than anything.

6. Soup is Good Food
1. Les Paul
2. Bass
3. Physical Graffitti
4. Absolutely
5. I suspect it would have been a disaster. Why? Just because.
6. No. Beck could never get along with anyone for more than five minutes.
7. Over the Hills and Far Away is the most underrated Zeppelin song.
8. No. It's a great song. It has been, perhaps, overplayed. But DJ's gotta piss sometime.
9. I had tickets for the 'In Through the Out Door' tour. It would have been my second rock concert.
10. Richards without question.

8. Ha, mere mortals.....
1) Les Paul
2) Keyboard
3) Physical Graffitti and beyond
4) Duh
5) No it wouldn't have been cool. After seeing two of the all time musical giants in one show, there would be mass suicides from people having experienced the most in life that they could. They would have no further reason to go on. So for everyone's safety, these shows were never scheduled.
6)Nope, not a chance
7)Nope, Tea for One is.
8)Ehhhh, not really
9)At least two, maybe three
10)Page, by a landslide

9. My Take
1 - Jimmy Page - double guitar or Les Paul? Les Paul
2 - John Paul Jones - Keyboard or Bass? Yes
3 - Robert Plant - Led Zep I-Houses or Physical Graffitti and beyond? The first Album was incredible. Coda would be my second choice.

5 - Would an Elvis/Led Zep tour have been as cool as it sounds? Explain. About as cool as the Everly Brothers and Pantera. Its like putting steak on a jelly sandwich, it just doesn't work.
6 - If Jeff Beck played guitar for Led Zep instead of Page, would that have worked? Sure it would, it just wouldn't be Led Zepplin.
7 - Out on the Tiles - was this the most underrated Zep song or not? Not. I don't even recall it I like Hangman, Ten Years Gone, No Quarter etc
8 - Stairway to Heaven - was this the most overrated Zep song or not? Overrated, I still hear it regularly. And it's what 30 yrs old. Overplayed hell yeah.
9 - If you had a chance to see Led Zeppelin live in their prime, how many body parts would you have been willing to give up? Nothing. I saw Plant And Page on the Walking from Clarksdale and was impressed with the show.
10 - Bigger druggie: Page or Keith Richards? Richards
