Australian paleontologists find traces of demon ducks, other species

SYDNEY, Australia - Forget cute, cuddly marsupials. Paleontologists say they have found the fossilized remains of a fanged killer kangaroo and what they describe as a "demon duck of doom."

13. These mallards are a mob!
They come running anytime I step out of the door. They'll take food from my fingers, scraping me in the process, and they were bold enough to come into the house last summer! But they are really cute and fun to watch, especially when they run.

6. I wish they'd shown a picture of the demon duck of doom!
The kangaroo must have been terrifying, with those fangs that stuck out from the lower jaw like that.

No "demon duck" pics. But at least I have a possible insult I can call, for when "Google" (the Welsh Harlequin I hatched out in the incubator last month) gets snippy and pinches me!
