Maybe you killing it spared it some worse fate. Like isn't there some weird bug that has a fake firefly light on it and it lures male fireflys in and kills them? AlienGirl would know...

Don't worry, you've just helped the firefly move on to its next reincarnation a little early. Perhaps it is now a butterfly, or a hummingbird, or a dolphin or whatever it wanted to be. If it was an accident, and I'm sure it was b/c I don't think you'd purposefully ever harm anything, then no worries. Honest.
