Just started watching "Lost" - question

Don't give me any spoilers here - I just watched Tabla Rasa last night (ep 3) and fuck that show is good. It's not the storyline so much as the way they slowly reveal the characters.

Anyway....do you think they're all really dead and in purgatory working their way to heaven? That's my first guess...

1. No. I don't think there is a supernatural

reason to their reasons for being there. I do think that they are unwilling rats in someone's experiment gone amok, though.

I've watched Lost since the beginning. I think they're victims of a bizarre group who has brought them there for a reason.

each character so far has a chance to "Redeem" themselves - very much along the lines of purgatory.

7. True. Tabula Rasa of course means "blank slate", and

everyone who went down on the plane and survived has a chance for a new life there. But knowing what I know from the second season, they're not dead.

I won't say how or why, but it was made pretty clear in the second season finale that they are NOT dead/in purgatory/etc.

Everything you see is actually happening. (Well, except for the odd dream sequence here and there.)

Btw -- the next episode, Walkabout, is one of my favorites from season 1. That's the one where I knew I was hooked.

And seriously debated running out to the 24-hour video store to rent disc 2.

That twist kind of blew my mind -- and also established Locke as my favorite character.

What about the people who survived the crash, but died later? In the beginning, I thought the cast were the crash fatalities. But then others died, like that woman drowning. Could they have been near death, then survived? After a while, I just went along for the ride.

Season Two DVD comes out in Oktober. I guess there'll some revelations and mysteries answered then.

I think the people that died later WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE THE PLANE CRASH. Like, the two who died (trying to protect the OP!) -- they were supposed to be in First Class, but their seats were changed ta the last minute to coach... they've both died. Some others, too...
