So, about 2 months ago I'm on the phone with Lazarus, and he says, "Stuck, you think TiVO is great, you'll love Netflix."
Damn if he wasn't right!
If you haven't seen this thing (and I'm sure most of you have because I am very slow with these kind of things), you pay a small monthly fee and get three DVDs out at a time. No late fees - they pay for postage - thousands of titles.
I sound like a commercial, I know, but I am in love with this service!
OK...tell me about another service that I probably don't know about that is great like Netflix or a gadget that is as useful as TiVO.

Yeah, Alice loves it. Admittedly, she mainly seems to use it to get season after season of Friends episodes (which I mostly manage to duck), but she's been pretty satisfied with it. How you been?

Looking forward to a beach vacation next week.
How are you and your family doing? I'm so sorry about the recent news of your mother.

Dad seems a little listless, but that's to be expected. He hasn't quit on life like many widowers; I think he'll be fine, but I'm keeping an eye on him.

I tried Netflix once, but all the DVDs I got were scratched to the point that many of them wouldn't work. I also ran out of movies to rent. Anyway, it doesn't have the human touch of going to a videostore.

I've been a customer for 3 years and never ran out of movies to rent.
Yeah, I love Netflix. If it was a choice between cable TV and Netflix, I'd choose Netflix.

we're in the middle of The World At War right now. No way we're doing 26 hours of documentary at a brick and mortar without racking up insane late fees.

We've been with Netflix about two years now. I live in a small town that has two video stores, one a Hollywood Video with astronomical fees, the other a mom and pop with no selection. I always hated walking around the video store with my husband saying, "What do you want to rent?", "I don't know, what do you want to rent?", etc. Now, I fill up the queue and he gets to pick from the 3 DVDs we have at home.
