The Lounge is pretty subdued tonight, due to the outbreak of
hostilities in the Middle East.......

A lot of folks are scared, and I understand this.......

I would like to try and lift everyone's spirits, if I can.......

If you don't think I'm being too presumptuous.......

I saw this quote tonight. It's a line in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption." I have no idea who spoke it in the movie......

"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies."

It does rather sound like him, but I believe that Andy Dufresne (played by Tim Robbins, BTW) actually said it......

I have no idea where Random Aussie is!

5. I guess I'm a little fanatic about Shawshank
of course everything Stephen King writes I read, I had the book on tape and use to listen to it everyday during my walks, and I have seen the movie at least 30 times. You have great taste Peggy.

Aw, thank you! I just love that movie......

I don't normally like Stephen King.......he's just too scary for me...

BUT.... I make an exception for this story!

Both the movie and the book were fantastic!

Hmmm.....I wonder if this line is in the book.......

15. In Bushies' press conference with the Chancellor of Germany...
He kept going on about the pig she was serving at the dinner tonight.

He kept talking about the pig.

Well a reporter asked about his thoughts on the bombing of the Beriut airport and the escalating problems in Lebanon.

He looked at him and said "I thought you were going to ask about the pig"

The Chancellor actually looked at him with her mouth open.

Sometimes I fantasize of spraying Xanax worldwide.
It'll never happen, of course. Ah, one can dream.

Not that I'm saying drugs are the solution, but in
this case, couldn't hurt.

And it struck me as something that might help the Lounge shed its funky mood......

36. "Enjoy Every Sandwich"
I loved that quote of Warren Zevon; even though he was in pain at the end of his life, he got the essence of life it spot-on...

I look at it this way; if it's going to happen, it's going to happen, and there's nothing I can do about it. So I'm going to live my life and enjoy every moment, including listening to Peggy say "Fuck!"

41. Lets all sing the Doris Day song.
Doris Day

Que Sera Sera

by N/A
When I was just a little girl,
I asked my mother, 'What will I be?
Will I be pretty?
Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me:

Que Sera Sera,
what ever will be, will be;
The future`s not ours to see.
Que Sera Sera,
What will be, will be

When I grew up and fell in love,
I asked my sweetheart, what lies ahead,
will we have rainbows
day after day?
Here´s what my sweetheart said:

que sera, sera,
whatever wil be, will be
the future's not ours to see.
que sera, sera,
what will be; will be

Now I have children of my own
they ask their mother what will I be
will I be handsome?
will i be rich?
I tell them tenderly

que sera, sera,
whatever will be, will be;
the future's not ours to see.
que sera, sera,
what will be, will be.

Que sera, sera

lyrics
Doris Day

There's damn little hope when the warmongers are in control of running the world.

What's going on in Israel now was predicted 2 years ago.
