Wonder if the mouse in my bedroom is gone yet...
Layla Babycat had a mousie in the kitchen two nights ago, and kept letting the little shyster loose, just for the fun of catching it again. Naturally, it escaped and went off to heaven only knows where (I was hoping for the garage, at least, if not outside...)
So last night, just about asleep, when I could have sworn I felt something run across my hand...
Sat up, turned on the light, saw nothing...and assumed it must have been my hair, or the edge of the pillowcase, or something (to be honest, I was just hoping it wasn't an eight-legged icky...)
So I shut off the light, lay back down, about to drift off, and it happened AGAIN!
Same deal...saw nothing...

Tried one more time. THIS time when the little bastard/bitch ran up the blind cords, I heard it and when I turned on the light, there is escaped mousie, sitting in my windowsill right behind my bed.

So I went out to the kitchen to retreive Babycat from the windowsill there where SHE likes to sleep/lurk, and brought her into the bedroom to get the damn thing so I could get some SLEEP.

Well no such luck...it kept eluding both her and me, and I finally gave up and went out to sleep on the couch. This morning after I showered and went into the bedroom to get dressed (which was quite a chore, seeing as how everything that HAD been on the floor of my room, and I mean EVERYTHING, was piled on my bed due to the mouse hunt) the little wretch ran out of my closet and back under the bed. DAMN!
So I set a couple of traps (which I rarely do; I prefer to take them outside) and went to work and hoped the thing would be history by the time I got home. No luck, but didn't see Mr./Ms. Mousie either. So I used it as an excuse to really vacuum well, since there was nothing on the floor; put everything else away, and set a couple additional traps (peanut buttered).

I normally don't mind mice, and find Layla's antics with them really amusing, but I would prefer NOT to have them on my pillow, particularly when I'm using it!
