I Love Arizona.Hot as Hell...Beautiful as Heaven
Unloaded and spent the night in Phoenix Wednesday night.
Loaded in Tucson this afternoon. Thank(insert Diety) my A/C

MOFO's. Y'all have my undying respect. :toast:

2. Went to Tombstone last summer for vacation.
Hubby didn't have a twinge of arthritis the whole time. My sinuses never bothered me. If it weren't for the politics of the people there, I'd move to Arizona to live.

7. Don't believe the BS about dry heat
True you don't feel so hot, but you are. Sweat evaporates very
quickly. AZ is one unique experience. Just be prepared. And enjoy.

4. I loved it there
lived there for several years in Phoenix, but got up to Payson, Flagstaff, and Jerome whenever I could. I almost moved to Bisbee, too; that and Jerome are the 2 most favorite towns in the US...

9. I've become a heat wuss!

The first summer I lived there was the year it hit 122F; that was the most bizarre day I've ever had there. When the long-time natives all stayed inside and the city ground to a halt, I knew it was bad....

11. And, dammit
did you think FT McMurray shut down when it was -53C? Nooooo...

I hate the heat, too. I grew up in southern Ontario, and it was awful - no a/c in a brick house, I used to get a combined total of about 5 hours sleep the whole summer.

I knew that whoever wrote the line "you could cut the air with a knife" had been to TO when it got to 35C. You literally couldn't breathe, with all the humidity and smog...

12. Oh man, yes
Mrs E is from TO and she tells about that as well; to me, I don't think I can't handle that too long...

14. It was in the early-mid 90's
here for over a week...that's a heat wave for us! :hi:

(I should also point out that full sundown occurs at almost midnight, and by 4:30, sunup. The sunlight is very intense, as we have a short growing season, and have to make up for it.)

A couple of years ago, it did hit 36C - that's 97F.

17. Most people are surprised
that it can get hot here (not hot!, but hot).

It's the extremes that are the worst, however; 35 above in the summer to -35 in the winter. (95F to -31F)

13. I love AZ, I used to go out there every summer...
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 02:02 AM by Placebo
but I could never live there. The heat didn't bother me, since it's a dry heat (it's the humidity that kills me) but I'm too much of a city boy at heart. :)
