Gah! Why are Tom Waits tickets so expensive??!!? |
|
I know the guy only tours the US like once a decade, but $600 for tickets? In Ohio? And why isn't he doing anything on the East Coast?

3. I think it was $600 for two seats |
|
But some seats were going for over a grand. And that was the cheapest I could find.
Pretty much every venue is sold out except Chicago, and they only announced it last week I think.

5. You might wanna check Louisville, KY, if possible |
|
Tickets went on sale today, and my girlfriend and I got tickets for $135. Steep, yes, but I may never get to see this man play again.

Nashville is going to screw over anyone dumb enough to buy floor seats from a scalper.

2. Holy shit! That's out of control. |
|
I never saw him concert, but I've seen two of his operas. Love him!
Great musician. I would love to actually see him live once. But not for $600. That's insane!

4. Ticketmaster is listing them for $65. Are you sure $600 isn't a typo |

6. I saw Tom Waits 5 years ago and the tickets were $50.00. |
|
 $600.00 should buy some killer seats.

7. Maybe artists are charging such high prices because it is |
|
no longer feasible to expect to make money with CD sales alone due to rampant online music piracy.
If they can no longer expect twenty dollars a cd from all of their fans what else can artists do?
This maybe the new profit model for musicians. I've noticed ticket prices skyrocketing across the board.

8. Most artists make their money touring |
|
Record sales usually benefit anyone but the artist. That's why some artists are cool with downloading and bootlegging.
