Caillou: I don't condone smacking kids, but DAMN!
If my children were as perennially obnoxious as this whiny little brat, I'd be SO tempted.

3. Smart on you.
"Maaahh meee! Rosie took my toy! Maaaa meee! I don't WANNA!" O.m.g. his screechy little voice grates on the nerves like coarse sandpaper.

4. Pingu is nuts.
It's far and away the wierdest of Sprout's offerings. Far more tolerable that the bald-headed harpie-child.

Totally abstract and bizarre - what else would you expect from the Swedes?

If you want really bizarre check out Boobah.

Back when I was laid off, I used to pop Tavernertoddler in front of the TV after a few bong hits.

We both couldn't take our eyes off the set.

37. I watched a few episodes of Boobah
I've come to the conclusion that the creators of the show must have gotten the idea from reading a book or watching a television program on quantum mechanics while tripping balls on a combinations of DMT, Shrooms, LSD, and Quaaludes.

33. I've said it before, and I'll say it again....
The strangest thing in Pingu.... and maybe in all of tv-dom.... is that the only business in Pingu's vollage is a French Horn Store.

Like, do they eat French Horns? Because there's no bakery to be seen. Not even a fish-head emporium.

12. Banned from our house, as well.
Ever since I saw an episode while baby-sitting about 6 years ago, I swore that my child(ren) would never, ever watch this show. All he teaches kids is how to complain, whine, and pout about not getting their way, and it's not like they need any help on that front.

Caillou was originally broadcast in French in Quebec...

Wait... from Quebec, complaining, whining, and pouting about not getting their way... Canadian DUers, Would I be mistaken if I were to say that this what the Bloc Quebecois does in Parliment every day?

What's wrong with him? Gee, I think it's a great show - I even like the musical bits. I think it shows kids that it's OK not to be perfect, and how you resolve frustration and anger.

30. PBS kids show
that centers on a 4-year-old, Caillou, and his circle (baby sister Rosie, Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, friends, schoolmates, neighbors, etc, etc). The normal sort of stuff happens to him - for instance he thinks the circus is today, but instead it's tomorrow, and he gets angry, and his family and he have to deal. I like the show and my child likes the show; I don't get the haters here.

31. Indeed.
I don't like that Arthur either. Went to a school function when my child was in kindergarten and the Arthur charcter sat beside me and was looking my way before the program. Maybe it was someone I knew but I was creeped out. I know, I'm weird.

My grandson Noah is autistic. For some reason he takes on some of the speech and mannerisms of some of the characters on the shows he watches. In the case of Caillou he whines and refuses to listen and he pouts. He even does the stinky speech from Lilo and Stitch. He's now into Thomas the Tank Engine and makes exaggerated facial expressions. At least those aren't as annoying as the constant whining. I read somewhere that the girl who was Caillou's voice died in 2003 in a car crash.

38. I remeber staying home form school with the flu once...
After having slept about .01 hours all night, I was flipping the channels and I found a Canadian children's show.

In my condition, it just didn't look right. When I got back to school two days later, my friends asked me where I had been.

My response?

"Well... all I know is that I had the flu and I think I watched Canadian soft-core porn...."
