I've had a big ugly purple bruise for over a week

and it won't go away. There's a hard knot in the center. I don't know how to make it go away.

I have one on my shin. Got it in August. Purple, the hard knot, the whole nine. I don't think I'll ever lose it.

2. I think I ran into a door jamb.

I'm always running into things and get bruises eaisly only this one is a real shiner. I'm looking for a remedy. One person told me to put pineapple juice on it. I'm going to have to slice one and tape it to me.

4. I got a huge bruise on my thigh 7 years ago

Fell off a horse, tucked and rolled and came down on my right side. Tore all the skin off my arm from my elbow to my wrist (I have a nifty scar) and left a bruise from my thigh to my knee. Huge. Purple, green, yellow, orange. Beautiful, really.

Three days later, I went off a different horse (bad week, what can I say?) and broke a vertabra in my back. I was put into a brace and I think the constriction caused the leg to swell up unbelievably (it was comical really - I couldn't sleep on my back because it hurt, I couldn't sleep on my stomach because it put pressure on my back and I couldn't sleep on my right side because of this bruising and swelling. For four months, I slept on my left side).

Anyway, the back healed up fine, the bruising eventually left, the swelling went down but I have a funny little round scar on the surface of my leg and a knot of hard, scarred muscle underneath where the bruise was. It used to hurt but a physical therapist gave me some stretching exercises to do and now it's just a funny conversation piece.
