I found a beautiful place to follow "doctor's orders".

I found out a few weeks ago that my triglycerides are 900 (and should be below 240). My doctor said that I can lower it with a medication, a low carb diet, and exercise. He wants me to take a 60 walk everyday. The problem is that taking a walk in my neighborhood is so boring and sometimes dangerous--stray dogs that are always either dobermans or pitt bulls. So, I am driving 20 mins. to Elizabeth Park in Trenton. What a difference. Beautiful scenery, dogs on leashes being walked by their owners, other friendly walkers, and friendly little brown and black squirrels who come up close and chatter for food. I'm enjoying this so much. I don't even mind the drive there and back. I just put on some good music and enjoy the journey. If I can get my triglycerides close to normal in 3 months, I can stop taking the medication and lower it more by exercise and diet. I'm actually going to enjoy taking "doctor's orders" for a change.
