The premier episode of the thread you have been waiting your entire posting life for.

Welcome to DU Fight Club.

The first rule of DU fight club is: Do not tell the mods about DU Fight Club.
The second rule of DU fight club is: DO NOT TELL THE MODS ABOUT DU FIGHT CLUB.
Third rule, if some says stop, taps out or does not reply for 10 minutes.. the fight is over.
Fourth rule, when the fight is over, it is over. Fights in Fight Club do not leave Fight Club.
Fifth rule.. What happens in fight Club, stays in Fight Club. Don't go crying to the mods because you get hurt in a fight. If you chose to fight, you chose the possibility that you would get hurt.
Sixth rule: No racial/ethnic/sexist slurs.
Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to.
and the Eigth rule of Fight Club is... if this is your first night at Fight Club... you have to fight.

Some things to keep in mind:

You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

the eating of meat, for the majority, is a selfish act.

And while I may not go hunting frequently, I can hunt and fish and other things to stalk, kill and eat my prey.

I don't think bacteria plays by the "predator" rules. Why should they?

As for your ability to stalk, kill and eat your prey, the point was that it was a selfish act. I wasn't questioning ability. Though, I commend your ability to stalk, kill and eat a creature that doesn't know that you're stalking him/her to kill and eat him/her. Element of surprise, I guess.

8. I follow my body's impulses

If it tells me I need to eat a nice blood-soaked steak, I eat the steak. If it tells me I need a fish, I eat the fish. There are plenty of nutrients that you can't get or are at least more difficult to get into your body in pill form.

If you can clearly state that you need to eat whatever flesh to survive, then so be it. I'm not regulating anything. I'm making a suggestion that you're trying to strawman back at me.

So, it is a life or death issue for you to eat meat, yes? "Happy" btw doesn't make the cut. It's emotion, driven by the self.

I'm not judging, by any means. Let's see...it's selfish (sort of) of me to be burning fossil fuels to have this discussion. See?

However, this Fight Club is specific, and something you've already admitted to.

that I'm not judging or otherwise suggesting that anyone that eats meat is a "bad person" so to speak.

Shit, bacon tastes GOOD, dammit. Prime rib is VERY tasty. Myself, I was a HUGE seafood fan (I'm a New Englander, originally) and swordfish was a tough one for me (and do NOT get me started on giving up a fine seafood Newburg).

We all do selfish shit all the time. All of us, none aside.

So, do I get some kind of DU World Heavyweight Championship belt or something?
