OK---it's officially TOO FREAKING HUMID!!!
I opened my dryer this morning to find a pool of moisture on the bottom of the drum. This only happens if the air is supersaturated (about three times a year). :( I stepped outside on the deck to let my dogs out, and the humidity clung to me. Ugh! There's no such thing as a good hair day in weather like this... :P

But that's NC in the summer. It sucks.

3. I've been in both AR and NO in the summer---you are right.
No air moving, 110% humidity at 90+ degrees.... disgusting! Kinda like it is now. But AR and NO have it longer than we do. I feel your pain!

5. I lived in AR most of my life but now I live in Florida.
Arkansas is worse although many Floridians find it hard to believe!

2. Some people move to NC for the weather.
Up here in the frozen state of NH, people will move clear across the country just to find out that no one has perfect weather. My brother moved to Florida about 15 years ago, but every summer he's back up here (and staying with us). I think it's a pretty safe bet that no matter where you live, you're not gonna like the weather at least part of the year.

4. True. We do actually have four seasons here, and the winters aren't as
bad as the North. However, I lived in Atlanta for the first twelve years of my life (humidity is awful there too) and NC for the rest, and I still can't get used to the nasty summer humidity.

I couldn't live in a state that has year-round summer. I need relief!

8. No---the duct leading to the outside lets the humidity in.
It's very stupid. :P

12. I'm the wierdo...
I love hot and humid. Of course, I grew up in Florida without any air conditioning (neither house nor car).

I must have somehow adapted, as now I don't like a/c even on the hottest of days. I'd rather have the windows open and the ceiling fans running. I tell my wife it's our part to use less energy and save the planet, but she doesn't buy it.

All these a/c offices, cars, and homes are making us wimps.

13. Maybe so, but I like to be comfortable!
I roomed with a coworker who lives in Florida back in May when we went to a conference, and she wanted the thermostat on 85. SHEESH! No thanks. 75 for me. :)

15. Hello from a fellow Tarheel.

Yes it is humid--too humid. Like Tropical Rainforest humid.

My glasses fog up, my hair has a hard time drying, and the house windows have droplets of water where condensation is occuring on the glass.

Come on October . . .

17. North Georgia is OK at the moment.
But I spent most of my life down in South Florida, so I can deal with any humidity up here. Piece of cake compared with down there.

I grew up in Atlanta, where it was humid and nasty in the summer.

19. ACK! I hope I've gotten used to humidity by this point.
The first few days here I thought I was going to faint. I couldn't take 5 steps without feeling nauseated & breathing hard. Joani carried our bags and looked at me very vaguely a la: "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I only revived indoors.

:o

23. Houston is having it really bad this week.
All you have to do is step outside for a few minutes and your skin is drenched with sweat. Yuck. Thank goodness for airconditioning.
